| ^ Adding that none of this is the children's fault, since they cannot go out and get vaccinated without parental approval. So the equity reason is to shield unvaccinated kids from the social repercussions of being singled out as belonging to those families. |
I would imagine it would have to be voluntary -- for both students and teachers. They can provide a record of vaccination in order to get out of quarantine, but someone would have to collect that info under the pertinent privacy protocols. It would be the regular protocols for students (the same ones used for providing student health records), but i don't know what that entity would be for teachers -- the same entity? DC Health? |
Under this rubric, the vaccines don't matter for quarantine, either. Exposure = 2 week quarantine, regardless of vax status. Seems like this will have to go on until vax is mandatory for students/teachers/staff. |
Yeah, but they deserve the social repercussions. Maybe THEY can convince their idiot parents to get the shots. |
A 12 yr old deserves the repercussions? Reeeaaally? |
Right. But those unvaccinated kids/teachers will close schools temporarily if they get covid. This will affect all students. It is horrible to contemplate kids’ education being interrupted by the morons who don’t understand science. |
Let’s mock and punish children for not making their parents bend to their will. Does your 12 year old make their own decisions about things that you control? Like if they said no to the vaccine you would have allowed that? How is a 12 year old supposed to convince their parents of something they don’t believe? |
. Unvaccinated children should be taught remotely. Period. |
Oh no they should not. That means all the kids under 12 are remote. Those who have the least risk from catching covid. |
So elementary schools should remain closed for the upcoming school year? |
| But for real, we're just going to keep having 2-week exposure quarantines until vaccinations are mandatory. |
Let’s quit engaging that PP, she is clearly a very angry and cruel person if she thinks 12 year olds should suffer the consequences of their parents’s decisions. |

This thread is for MS and HS! DGAF about elementary schools. |
What a gem |
