What makes you think so?

watch the full video in the NBC link. He’s clearly overwhelmed and confused, and seems to have limited verbal ability.

NP: Agree. He keeps saying "Emergency" "phone call" and "no" and "don't touch me" in a flat affect voice. He makes no facial expressions.

The lady in the park in San Francisco was supposedly extremely autistic but I didn't see any sympathy for her. But, of course, as soon as it's a man....

No, I’m not. I don’t know what point they are trying to make. Having meltdowns when a lot of unexpected/inappropriate things happen is something that is a challenge for a lot of people with autism, especially in the moderate to severe category. That can include swearing, name calling, etc.

Oh, I had the same thought then.

Including racial slurs? LOL. You guys are clowns to even be going for that as an excuse when you dont even know if he's an autist or not.

I guess it's okay to say the n-word now too... oh wait... only racism against asians seems to be tolerated...

Original poster here. My point is that autism might be a reason but not an excuse. If this was the F word it would be one thing but racist slurs? No. That stuff doesn’t slip out because of lack of social awareness. It shouldn’t be there in the first place.

It's interesting that neigher an assualt or racial slurs were caught on video, isn't it? If he was recording, this seems a bit odd.

Oh, I see, racism is a symptom of autism.

I actually dont think anyone should be cancelled for a one minute spiel that was caught on camera. We hardly ever see what preceded it or what the person may have been dealing with mentally.

But it does not escape my notice that it's bene exclusively white men that have been offered sympathy and understanding after these incidents, whereas women have been called Karens and sometimes even ARRESTED. So yeah... rinse and repeat.

What was the slur? The clip I saw didn't have one.

Neither did the Central Park lady but no one cared in that case.

Not terribly experienced with autism; is it typical to be high functioning such as to get oneself to a restaurant, order a quantity of food and consume it, but not understand that payment is required?
