Tuckahoe - got in the mail over the weekend. |
Received from Taylor today |
Any surprises with the results? Do they match expectations? |
Do any of your results indicate local scores? Ours don’t, and didn’t for older child either. Older child didn’t even show raw score, just percentiles. This one at least has a score with it, but nothing to compare it to, so it’s kind of meaningless. |
How did you receive them since yesterday was asynchronous? In Parentvue? |
It was in the postal mail. But we received an email from the GTS teacher to expect it. There was a letter accompanying it that explained the scores very briefly but there are no ranges listed. |
We did not get local scores or grade scores. |
We got national age and grade percentile ranks and standard age score, but no local scores. I wish we had a breakdown of the abilities scores, but only have the total score, so we don't really know which areas were weakest/strongest. But our expectations were in line with the results. |
So it looks like people are getting different levels of disclosure from different schools? Why isn't this standardized?
|
Because every school is it’s own fiefdom. Holdover from Coach Murphy. It’s needs to be dealt with ASAP. |
Our student should have scored higher on the CogAt. What is the best way to appeal? I don't think he was feeling well that day. |
Same here - can we submit private scores? |
If it's to be eligible for gifted services, what does your school's RTG say? They don't just rely on CoGat, but on a host of other things to be identified. Unless you're thinking of qualifying for programs like Johns Hopkins' CTY. Curious to know why you'd think the student should have scored higher - did you prep? |
What percentile qualifies for gifted? |
Does CogAT testing have an Equity component? |
