I think it’s despicable that black servicemen and veterans need protection from local police.
Any excessive force complaints from veterans and military members should immediately be reported directly to the VA and DOJ. |
There are no charges in the Virginia Court system. That means they acknowledge he did nothing wrong. |
Right, but the cops sure did something wrong. And they need to be held accountable. |
Exactly. THAT's the issue. |
+1 And conflicting commands given by inept cops with guns drawn have resulted in murders. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_of_Daniel_Shaver |
He’s disobeying because he is terrified of being killed. He knows what white cops do to black motorists. He was also terrified of reaching down to unbuckle his seat belt because they told him to stick his hands out the window and then told him to open the door. How can he do both at the same time? |
His behavior is beyond reasonable at every level. I found the conflicting commands to be absolutely paralyzing. |
I believe that cops often tell people to reach their hands out and open the car door with the outside handle. I didn’t hear that. These cops are dangerously inept. They told him he should be afraid?! Way to deescalate!! |
This is the same area where those cops who stormed the Capitol are from. Bet they “work” with militia groups.
|
There are racist cops all across America. It’s a very attractive job for aggro, power hungry bigots. |
At every turn the older police officer escalates the situation.
He tells the 2LT he "should be afraid" to get out of the car and that he's "going to ride the lightning." In response to the 2LT calmly asking why he was pulled over (with his hands hanging out the window) the police officer pepper sprays him. He needs to be fired - NOW - before he kills someone. He is a BAD, BAD cop. |
This idiot failed repeatedly to follow basic commands. The cops did sctew up at times ny giving conflicting commands. |
He was pepper sprayed while calmly sitting in his car, with his hands outside the window, just after asking why he was being detained. That is indefensible. |
I don't think you realize how you sound. You're calling someone, who is an officer in the medical field, an idiot for not following commands that you admitted were conflicting. |
Those police and their whole department should be ashamed.
I'm from near there, totally not surprised. |
