I think it’s despicable that black servicemen and veterans need protection from local police.

Any excessive force complaints from veterans and military members should immediately be reported directly to the VA and DOJ.

What we see in the video is a felony stop where the police officers are approaching the suspect with guns drawn and order the suspect to exit the vehicle. This is not the default approach to a routine traffic stop...

He’s disobeying because he is terrified of being killed. He knows what white cops do to black motorists. He was also terrified of reaching down to unbuckle his seat belt because they told him to stick his hands out the window and then told him to open the door. How can he do both at the same time?

His behavior is beyond reasonable at every level. I found the conflicting commands to be absolutely paralyzing.

I believe that cops often tell people to reach their hands out and open the car door with the outside handle. I didn’t hear that. These cops are dangerously inept. They told him he should be afraid?! Way to deescalate!!

At every turn the older police officer escalates the situation.
He tells the 2LT he "should be afraid" to get out of the car and that he's "going to ride the lightning."
In response to the 2LT calmly asking why he was pulled over (with his hands hanging out the window) the police officer pepper sprays him.

He needs to be fired - NOW - before he kills someone. He is a BAD, BAD cop.

He was pepper sprayed while calmly sitting in his car, with his hands outside the window, just after asking why he was being detained. That is indefensible.
