Where is the APS Covid data???

Guys, have you been listening? No student stats are reported on here from April 1 to April 8 in an obvious mistake. Only April 9 was reported just today, but a whole week of stats before that is missing.

Yes we know. some guy in AEM said he emailed APS and they say they latest updates are correct. But where’s apr 1-8?

I’m really only interested in 5-8 since 1-4 was spring break and I think many families and staff didn’t fill it out on break.

They fixed it.

It’s updated now for April 1-9 with about 55 close contacts and a few positive cases.

Not bad for the week after break. I hope it stays low

Huh, so there were what I would consider to be potential "outbreaks" (where at least one student tests positive and then a slew of students report having had close contact with, presumably, that person) at BOTH Carlin Springs elementary AND Kenmore Middle school, whereas before it seemed like the data was being added and subtracted to suggest it was only one of them.

A little bit of a breakout from Spring Break I would say, though not at every school. The 14 positive student cases over the last two weeks represents an average of 7 positive student cases per week, whereas the average of 103 positive cases since 11/1/20 (23 weeks) really should be more at 4.5 cases per week, so it's a definite increase. And consider that these 14 positive cases were really mostly from the second week once folks got back from spring break (only Washington Liberty reported anything from March 29 through April 2, when most kids were on break), that 14 kids represents a pretty big number overall.

PS: I went back and looked and I counted TWELVE (12) cases of positive covid diagnoses in students attending school in person during the week after Spring Break (April 5 though 9). There were an additional 3 positive cases that week but those were kids who were already only doing virtual school only. Hopefully the positive cases didn't actually go back to their schools first but that isn't known (though several close contacts were reported by kids at those schools so maybe they did).

12 positive cases is nearly 3 times what the average weekly rate has been so far, so hopefully things do calm down. I will be very interested to see what happens with the numbers next week and hope there won't be any further problems with the reports.

When cases are reported for virtual students and their close contacts are in person at the same school, they’ve been playing sports together. I know that’s for certain in at least one of these cases. There’s cases were the sports may not actually be associate with the school (club level sports teams where positive kiddos are virtual but their teammates are in person).

The Carlin Spring and Kenmore cases are likely siblings.

Now I’m suspicious whenever there’s a blank day. The last entry for students is from April 9th, while the employee data includes entries from today, April 12. Is it because students aren’t in school today?
Anonymous
It’s because they are apparently scrubbing the data for students before they post it. Probably because ventilation lady creates charts and spreadsheets on the data on a regular basis and then wants to know why things change if APS has to correct anything.

Ugh. I just want a way to know if cases are being reported at my kid’s school. Getting the info a week late makes it useless. They should make clear that they’re not keeping the report current.

Just got a class quarantine notice today. Crossing 4 more days of in person K off the calendar . Ugh.

If your kid isn’t in class with an infected child, why does it matter? Will you take some dirt of action knowing there’s a covid case? The school notifies all families that need to quarantine.

^ take some SORT of action (not dirt)
