And consider that these 14 positive cases were really mostly from the second week once folks got back from spring break (only Washington Liberty reported anything from March 29 through April 2, when most kids were on break), that 14 kids represents a pretty big number overall.

PS:  I went back and looked and I counted TWELVE (12) cases of positive covid diagnoses in students attending school in person during the week after Spring Break (April 5 though 9).  There were an additional 3 positive cases that week but those were kids who were already only doing virtual school only.  Hopefully the positive cases didn't actually go back to their schools first but that isn't known (though several close contacts were reported by kids at those schools so maybe they did).

12 positive cases is nearly 3 times what the average weekly rate has been so far, so hopefully things do calm down.  I will be very interested to see what happens with the numbers next week and hope there won't be any further problems with the reports.[/quote]

When cases are reported for virtual students and their close contacts are in person at the same school, they’ve been playing sports together. I know that’s for certain in at least one of these cases. There’s cases were the sports may not actually be associate with the school (club level sports teams where positive kiddos are virtual but their teammates are in person).

The Carlin Spring and Kenmore cases are likely siblings. [/quote]
