So how did he get elected? Did no one qualify challenge him in Ward 8?

No one serious, no. No one serious challenged Bowser, Allen and Nadeau either and here we are with a deer-in-headlights mayor in a time or crisis and a comic-book council.

Interesting that you have complaints about Allen, Nadeau and White but not Gray who is head of Ward 7 (second worst vaccination rate in the city wards)? Maybe because you know he's a former Mayor of D.C. and there's absolutely nothing in your argument that could be substantiated against him.

I'm pretty sure the percentage of people in White's ward without running water and electricity is vastly larger than any other ward.

I know you think you're trying to set the record straight by being snarky and contrarian to the masses on this forum, but that's a breathlessly callous comment.

Nope he's right. Cruz left during the worst winter storm in Texas history when millions in his state were sitting in freezing homes, were dealing with disaster-level destruction from burst water pipes, hundreds died overnight, and no end in sight. On top of a vaccination crisis.

Meanwhile White just left for vacation when the Biden adminstration has secured an additional 20 million one-shot doses from Johnson & Johnson for immediate delivery.

So tell us - how are these the same?

White left during the worst pandemic in recent U.S. history when thousands in his ward have died and thousands more can't get vaccinated, with no end in sight.

Apart from it being 80 today, sounds pretty similar. They both went to sunny places to escape, too.

Now I know you're lying. A 1,000 people total in the city of Washington, D.C. have died from the Covid-19 pandemic. 1,055 to be exact, including all 8 wards, as of 03/26/2021.

Mayor Bowser did an excellent job fighting for the city mid-pandemic against Trump. I have no qualms with what she's done. Vaccine distribution was slow but its been slow nationwide until Biden put the pedal to the gas.

My experience -

People don't talk about it but D.C. also handled Covid incredibly well. There are 10 testing centers within 5 miles of my home and at least 3 within walking distance. All free. All well done.

Vaccine distribution. Food distribution for the needy. Homeless put in hotels. Daily press briefings at the height. The city and the mayor cares about the residents and that's never been clearer (at least to me) than in this pandemic.

DC had and has good testing, yes, but that only goes so far.

Bowser kept indoor dining and drinking open in the fall despite nearly every scientist screaming that it should be shut down. The piddling three-week holiday closure was too little too late, as cases spiked here as they did everywhere else. She's now deciding to pick petty fights with the feds over data reporting instead of getting shots in arms, because to her perception far outweighs production. Sorry, her performance has been mostly indefensible.

Ah, so the fact that hundreds and not thousands have died in Ward 8 -- far more than any other Ward -- is a good thing? Got it.

I am not sure what you mean by the bolded, but Bowser has been getting every shot in an arm that is possible while asking for more vaccines. If you are attempting to spread the false story that she turned down a FEMA site, the fact is that FEMA said that DC did not qualify so there was no site to be turned down.

Gray tweeted out something about a vaccination clinic four hours ago. He's doing his job admirably:

I think Trayon White is a fool (he’s said anti-vax comments in the past) and I don’t believe that he should have flown internationally during the pandemic. But really weird flex you are trying to make bringing up Ted Cruz. Why do conservatives persist with this what-aboutism? It’s bizarre. Have an argument that doesn’t need to be about a different situation.

Imagine if the 32 percent of the unused vaccines in DC's stockpile were in arms right now.

Again you're lying. Only 170 people have died in Ward 8 from Covid-19. Lies do not make a good argument.

I campaigned for Janeese, so not a conservative. Just someone who asks for leadership and basic competence instead of whatever it is trayon is delivering.

You would have to imagine because that is not a correct figure. See this article:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/dc-politics/dc-vaccine-numbers/2021/03/22/dfbcea46-89e8-11eb-bfdf-4d36dab83a6d_story.html

This is why Bowser is arguing about data. Moreover, while I can't find the tweet right now, I saw that the Health Department Director said there are a bunch of vaccines that have been counting as going to DC that the Federal government can't find.

"Only 170 people."

Look at your little chart again, especially the Ward 8 part. 1 in 5 DC covid deaths, more or less, came from one ward. Again, you're saying this is good?

She's arguing about data because her actual performance is indefensible. She's finally found numbers she can't juice, unlike the city's crime stats and the covid numbers her health department juiced in order to reopen the city before it was wise to do so:

Do you even live here? Like I'm seriously asking.

In answer to you question, 1 in 5 would be 20% not 18%. Even so the death rates in Wards 4,5,7,8 are practically identical. So no its not some weird conspiracy against Ward 8.

The most deaths and the highest percentage of deaths in DC have been in Ward 8.

The council member from that ward just went on a transatlantic vacation when his constituents are clamoring to get vaccinated. He's also done jack shit to at the very least endorse the idea of vaccination. At worst, he's commented on social media that he's anti-vaccination.

That is the issue here.
