Agree. $55k for a Kia? Waaa??? I can get a Lexus SUV for that price. I did test drive the Kia, and I liked it, but it did not feel worth $55k. I also felt unsure about its reliability and longevity. Just my opinion. |

We got a Telluride and love it. Had a Toyota before this.

I’m not currently in the market for a car, but if I had to get a full sized SUV than the Telluride would be the one. $55k is probably absolutely loaded trim and all dealer accessories including under body coating. But which Lexus would you get that is comparable in size and seating for that price? You could probably get the Telluride in the low 40s if you didn’t need every option. Plus they have a 10 year warranty and takes regular gas. A lot of brands have been going slightly more upmarket and that includes some Kias, Genesis, and Mazda. |
| We bought one (actually two-one was not a Telluride) and have lived both. Great cars. |
Obviously people love them or they wouldn't be selling like they are. What specifically do you love about it that makes it worth $10-15k more than other SUVs in its class? Not disparaging them at all - they're nice-looking and drive well - but Kia's aren't exactly known for longevity or reliability, so there must be something else that is reeling people in. Though I'll say even the dealer was pretty shocked they're selling for what they are; couldn't say why other than it's a trend. |
| It's a damn good looking car, and about $30K+ less than luxury SUVs. You also get comparable features. It's probably the best bang for your buck on the market right now if you are looking for an SUV. |
| It looks like a cheaper version of the new yukon to me |

Picked up my Telluride last week. It was quite a process as I didnt want to pay $5-10k over MSRP like many of the dealers in this region wanted. I joined the telluride forum, used failcat to find which dealers were getting tellurides in (it's a website one of the members created where you can search once a telluride vin is created), contacted about 15 dealers, mainly in PA. Found a dealer that was charging MSRP without any games (some charged MSRP but added $2k protection packages or other nonsense).
Honestly I wasn't going to go through all this and just buy a Palisade or another Highlander (what I had before). But the new nightfall package makes it look so cool, coupled with the way it looks inside and drives are all top notch. I've been thrilled so far but it was certainly a process! |
Can you please help me! I posted earlier on the thread about how much I liked the Telluride (also want nightfall package), I test drove last night and now convinced that I want it. What dealership did you buy from? Im looking at these two... https://www.kingautokia.com/new-Gaithersburg-2021-Kia-Telluride-SX-5XYP5DHC2MG164873 And https://www.kingautokia.com/new-Gaithersburg-2021-Kia-Telluride-EX-5XYP3DHC7MG173042 |
| We got ours from KIA Fairfax. Ask for Frank the owner |
| Koons Kia in Woodbridge always seems to have Tellurides in their inventory. |
I would start with joining the tellurideforum.org (there's also a kiatulluride forum but it doesnt seem as active). A lot of great info there. You can often search for a dealer there to see if it's on the good or bad dealer list. A quick search there says king kia was charging above MSRP. There are also some bad reviews about koons. I bought mine from ladd-hanford in Lebanon PA and it was an awesome experience. If you reach out to their internet department Cody is the guy i spoke with. If you look on failcat you need to anticipate about a month out from when the vin shows up at that particular dealer. Ladd-Hanford is a small dealer so they dont have as many coming in. And like I said some of the ones that show up are pre-orders so already spoken for. There are dealers you can order from but the wait is 3-6 months (you may get a 2022 by then, parsons kia in VA is one closer by). I was going to get one at Buchanan Kia in westminster as they are selling at MSRP but the one at Ladd-Hanford came in earlier Call them up and see if they have any incoming, the conversations I've had with their GM have been good. Steps: 1) register for the forum 2) search failcat for tellurides that fit what you are looking for (Trim, packages, AWD/FWD, color, etc...) 3) contact the dealers to see if the ones coming in are available 4) as what their OTD price is (and check the forum to see what other experiences are) 5) Wait for it to come in! They are worth the hype, i have a wolf gray SX with nightfall, prestige, tow. I tinted the front windows and added black OEM running boards I had to buy from Canada! |
| Are Tellurides and Hyundai Palisades the same? |
Pretty much, the inside of the palisade is slightly nicer. Most prefer the way the telluride looks |
The Telluride is very pretty, it reminds me of the Volvo xC90 which I have always liked. |
