Honestly I wasn't going to go through all this and just buy a Palisade or another Highlander (what I had before). But the new nightfall package makes it look so cool, coupled with the way it looks inside and drives are all top notch. I've been thrilled so far but it was certainly a process!

Can you please help me! I posted earlier on the thread about how much I liked the Telluride (also want nightfall package), I test drove last night and now convinced that I want it. What dealership did you buy from? Im looking at these two...

I would start with joining the tellurideforum.org (there's also a kiatulluride forum but it doesnt seem as active). A lot of great info there. You can often search for a dealer there to see if it's on the good or bad dealer list. A quick search there says king kia was charging above MSRP. There are also some bad reviews about koons.
I bought mine from ladd-hanford in Lebanon PA and it was an awesome experience. If you reach out to their internet department Cody is the guy i spoke with. If you look on failcat you need to anticipate about a month out from when the vin shows up at that particular dealer. Ladd-Hanford is a small dealer so they dont have as many coming in. And like I said some of the ones that show up are pre-orders so already spoken for. There are dealers you can order from but the wait is 3-6 months (you may get a 2022 by then, parsons kia in VA is one closer by). I was going to get one at Buchanan Kia in westminster as they are selling at MSRP but the one at Ladd-Hanford came in earlier Call them up and see if they have any incoming, the conversations I've had with their GM have been good.

Steps:
1) register for the forum
2) search failcat for tellurides that fit what you are looking for (Trim, packages, AWD/FWD, color, etc...)
3) contact the dealers to see if the ones coming in are available
4) as what their OTD price is (and check the forum to see what other experiences are)
5) Wait for it to come in! They are worth the hype, i have a wolf gray SX with nightfall, prestige, tow. I tinted the front windows and added black OEM running boards I had to buy from Canada!

Thank you so much for the follow-up. I registered on the forum and sent several emails to dealers. The folks at Dulles Kia seem to want to make a deal, but still want 4K over list. So hopefully I will get some good feedback from other dealerships.

I really like the look of this and I don't normally like SUVs. I found one about $33K 45min from us, but it's white. I'm concerned I won't be able to keep up with the cleaning so may pass on this one that's left

I’m back....can’t get any dealership within a 100 mile radius to budge on the considerable markup. Couldn’t believe Brown’s Kia in Manassas had the nerve to have a flat $10k markup of the nightfall edition and they had 4 in stock. I’m starting to consider the new brought back to life Honda Passport

Are you trying to buy one on the lot or asking them what's coming in? It's going to take at least a month if you can see what inventory is coming in. Did you try Buchanan kia? Bergey Kia is another one. Someone on the forum posted about Salisbury kia having one that they ordered and didn't need.

It is a frustrating process and the pilot may be a better option if you need an suv right away.

That’s why I passed on the Telluride. They’re asking way too much for it. There are better cars at that price point, anyway.

Buchanan and Bergen, no stock. Salisbury, no stock. Their sister store in Fredericksburg has the wolf gray (not interested in that color) and a Gravity gray coming in on 4/12 for 54k. I checked Failcat today it doesn’t appear any new VINS were added.

I really don’t want the Passport, I feel like I’d be settling. But I was surprised how nice it looked and it felt okay on the driver’s seat. But just not the look I’m going for.

So you complain they won’t discount, but then list off places that have 0 to sell. It’s supply and demand, pretty simple concept.

I’m not asking for a discount, I’m asking to pay what the sticker says. But anyway, I may have a line on one from Bayside Kia. I actually need two cars (one for my side hustle), I mentioned this to the salesperson and she seriously said they maybe able to throw in a car to cover the markup So I’ll see what’s up with that tomorrow. Gonna skip the Passport. If I can’t make a deal on this Telluride, I may just buy a hooptie to last me til June when hopefully the hype will die down by then. I sent an email to Kia Corporate and they replied rather quickly that most dealerships should be fully stocked my July 4th on the Night Fall edition.

If you're ok with waiting then I would order, more dealers wiling to order at MSRP and you get exactly what you want. Some of the dealers are saying 2-3 months (others are at 6-8 months).

Found a dealership willing to sell with no mark up AND a $750 MFR rebate in Stroudsburg, PA. Ordering the exact car I want. Should be ready n about 45 days and they will deliver to my front door.

Still looking for a hooptie for my side hustle job. Anybody got a good car to sell for $2500?

I joined the telluride forum, used failcat to find which dealers were getting tellurides in (it's a website one of the members created where you can search once a telluride vin is created), contacted about 15 dealers, mainly in PA. Found a dealer that was charging MSRP without any games (some charged MSRP but added $2k protection packages or other nonsense).

I sent an email to Kia Corporate and they replied rather quickly that most dealerships should be fully stocked by July 4th on the Night Fall edition.

Great to hear! What type are you going to get? It's a great car and the drive back will be so nice! I was able to get all my paperwork/financing done via email before hand so I was at the dealer for about an hour (which is a record for my car buying experience) . Hopefully this place will get you in and out

I'm reviving this thread - I got quoted 62K for a Kia Carnival! 10K over MSRP, and yet they can't keep them stocked. Total craziness. FWIW I paid 20K less than that for a Subaru Ascent. Very happy with my choice.

Wow, didn't realize the Telluride craziness also applied to the Carnival. The Carnival just doesn't have the Telluride's good looks. Anyone know if the Sorento is similarly hard to buy?
