Some privates still take apps in the spring, post in that forum for ideas. Oyster might work for you, I'd make the person in charge of admissions my new best friend.

We should try to organize a get-together for newly-accepted Cooke families. It would be really nice to see Cooke turn into a neighborhood school where Adams Morgan parents would be happy to send their kids without hesitation, and that's only going to happen if this year's momentum holds for a few more years....

We're got into Murch, in-boundary, no sibling

Just looked at the full list, and it seems that of 57 slots, 28 were IB siblings. There are 13 IB kids on the waitlist.

My numbers in for preschools were all waitlisted between 100 and 155. Except for Cooke, we are 62. Do we have a shot?

62 at Cooke might happen. I get the impression they might add another class if there's a lot of demand (there's space in the building), and that waitlist might move significantly in any case, as there are bound to be a number of fence-sitters in front of you (says an admitted fence-sitter).

what other schools besides Oyster did you apply to?

Hopefully Hearst, Stoddert, Eaton and Hyde, Thompson, and Ross were on your list. The waitlists move. Also EL Haynes and Stokes are great charter choices.

Why is a Tyler - SI PS in boundary person on the waitlist when no preference kids were accepted???

I meant to say PK not PS.

Why is a Tyler - SI PK in boundary person and a OOB with proximity person on the waitlist when no preference kids were accepted???

I imagine because the in-boundary person was accepted somewhere s/he'd pref'd higher than Tyler.

There are 2 inbounds and 1 OOB with siblings on the Tyler Traditional Program waitlist when 9 no preference kids were accepted. How do you explain this?

Do you have a link to the list?

They were probably accepted at a higher priority school. You can look up the tracking numbers to verify it, and that seems to be the case.
