Uh, he's been placed on leave, so apparently public school isn't quite the "anything goes" circus you imagine. If he was, in fact, in the Capitol Building or otherwise participated in the storming of it, he committed a crime in the course of attempting sedition, and he should be fired.

“Prince William County Public Schools recognizes that employees have a right to engage in political activity on their personal time,” reads the statement. “However, employees may not engage in political activities during worktime, on school property, or using school resources, and employees who engage in criminal activity which calls into question their fitness as a role model for students may no longer qualify for employment with PWCS.”

Um, please let us know the last time we heard of a Liberal public school teacher getting fired for similar activity on school time. Oh wait, that just doesn’t happen.

I am unaware of a situation when a liberal teacher has illegally entered and stayed in Federal property and then admitted in class. Are you saying that you know of situations where that happened and they didn't get placed on leave?

Welcome to the Internet where people frequently post bullshit masquerading as truth.

Okay, you let me know the last time that a liberal public school teacher discussed his or her involvement in a violent attack on a federal building -- or any violent crime, really -- in front of his or her class.

Public school teacher here who has been repeatedly told by admin that making any personal political statements is not allowed. Every year at election time they remind us not to tell kids who we support politically.

Liberals stormed a portion of Portland and kicked out the duly elected civilian government. The media loved them.

You're joking, right? Until very recently, a public school teacher could be fired just for being gay, and they often were. Even 20 years ago, getting pregnant and not being married got women fired from teaching jobs. But I guess you were ok with that kind of thing.

What level (E/M/H) do you teach and which jurisdiction? I hope that is universal!

DP. I teach an ES grade and we hear the same. We know we aren’t supposed to make personal political statements. This shouldn’t be a surprise to any teaching staff.

Wow. What an asshat.

Contrast this with the National Guard member who was remoting in from the Capitol to DL teach his public school music students -- who was at the Capitol in the first place to defend it from jackholes like this.

This isn’t true. I do not support talking about personal political beliefs in class and I definitely do not support anything that happened at the Capitol but I’ve been hearing teachers bash Trump in school in front of students for 4 years including name calling. That’s unprofessional. No one has told them to stop at my school. I don’t support the man but I believe students should not know who we support. Teachers should stay neutral and stick to fact.

So because you hear teachers at your school saying this that means the PP's post is untrue?

We are made aware of the same.

I am pretty sure it is. I suppose I broke “ protocol,” though, after the attack on the capitol. I just don’t know how to see that attempted insurrection as anything other than idiotic, illegal, dangerous, and anti-democratic.

I mean, c’mon. It’s Donald Trump. The man is a known con artist and grifter with mafia ties whose blatant corruption was difficult to ignore. I imagine if I taught government or civics, that would be a tough topic to avoid.
