Sometimes this board feels like a haven of disordered eating.

You need to eat more or your weight loss journey won't work. How tall are you and how much do you weigh? You need to lose conservatively 1 to 2 pounds a week.

Eat more vegetables, cut out all the sweets and unnecessary food ( potato chips) but, eat enough so you are not starving!

Look up refeeding syndrome. If you eat less than 1000 calories per day for an extended period of time, and then increase your calories, you could have heart, organ, or brain damage, or even die.

Whoever gave you that calorie count must have an eating disorder. You feel like you are starving, because you are actually starving.

PP you don't know what you're talking about. OP, I'm short as well when on a diet I consume 1,000 calories per day.

Op is only eating 800 calories. Those 200 calories make a difference!

OP. What are you eating? This may sound counter intuitive, but eating some more fat might help you feel full. Adding energy-dense foods will mean that your overall food volume will be lower, but it might help with the lack of satiety which can be a killer for maintaining a calorie deficit for an extended period of time.

Also, if the foods you eat during your diet are representative (albeit in a smaller quantity) of the foods you eat after...it'll be easier to maintain. Obviously don't accomplish this through cake and cookies, but a little more olive oil etc in what you're eating could help.

That being said, yeah. If you're running a calorie deficit, you will probably feel hungry. You want to avoid being so hungry you can't think about anything else.

+1. No, you should not walk around hungry all the time! Your body is telling you that you need food. 800 calories is an eating disorder, not a diet.

4′11 at 130 ls. Not into eating sweets, I don't eat dairy (allergies), and hate junk food. My weight loss has hit a wall after losing 15 lbs.

Are you exercising 150 minutes a week? writing down everything you eat? You need to eat better and more so you don't starve.

Agree. This isn’t healthy or sustainable. OP, eat more and recalibrate your goals towards healthy weight loss. I assume you’re shooting for a 500 calorie deficit, which isn’t practical for smaller people.

There is no reason to eat 800 cal that is insane!

Aim for 1100-1200 you will still lose but be less miserable.

aim for high protein and a lot of veggies

Just eat more veggies. Seems simple to me? Make them yummy! Bright crunchy cabbage salads. Roasted Brussels. Add a little oil or pancetta. Cut up bell peppers.

Also, eggs are filling and healthy. It won’t affect your weight loss.

You need to find a way to eat that you can maintain. 800 calories is indeed setting you up for failure.

That’s way too low! I’m shorter than you - 4’9” and I’m losing weight with 1100-1200 calories per day.

Instead of pasta buy some weird palm hearts pasta. Also shirataki pasta. No sugar added ketchup and sauces.
Someone posted a whole head of cabbage recipe with chicken on top in an iron skillet in the oven. I made it without chicken, delish!
An enormous bowl of broccoli and cauliflower.
make a plain cabbage salad when hungry.
Shred cabbage, add salt and vinegar, and eat an enormous portion of it.

Wow this sounds miserable.
