I just searched Amazon for astronaut posters and apparently astronauts in general are being discriminated against - more of the initial results are generic no name pictures! The HORROR. |

Ummmm, no...this may be what "moms of some WHITE boys" are complaining about.
Pretty sure moms of Black boys have different complaints. I think all of us would be better served by addressing THOSE complaints. Off to donate to the NAACP again. |

OP, it's a series of posters celebrating astronaut "firsts". Once the first American white guy went into space, we were done with that. It happened a long time ago, because white guys get to do everything first.
Maybe your little white male child could do what girls and brown and black kids have been doing forever, and can look up to people outside of his race and gender for inspiration (since most of us were only provided with white and often male role models in the fields we were interested in). I'm sure you could also find some white dudes for him to idolize, but will it really be devastating for him to learn about Liu Yang, the first Chinese woman in space? Will he see that poster and think "Well, I guess I'll never go to space. Being an astronaut is just for women from China." No, he won't think that. Because he's probably smarter than you already. |
