Glad their business failed.

Two problems with this. First, business did not fail. Second, who put the Trump sign up -- Ferry owner or VA land owner?

My understanding is that they're both Trumpers.

I am boycotting the business that has stopped the ferry access to the road on Virginia side. What a POS greedy bastards.

Reduced revenue doesn't help, but it's just a fight between two owners, both of which need each other, to determine who gets a bigger share of the revenue. The Virginia side property owner and the ferry owner both need to agree on how to split the revenue because they each own part of the whole of what's needed for the ferry to operate.

Hard to know who's being unreasonable without knowing the revenues and expenses involved.

Considering Rockland Farm was looking to increase the rent 4,000,000%, I'm solidly of the opinion that they're the bad guys here.

I'm saying White's Ferry is perfect either, but they're better than the other side.

Ahh...the tolerant left strikes again.

What's that old saying again? Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to post on DCUM and remove all doubt.

Why? So that residents of rural western Montgomery County can enjoy living with more through-traffic, which will of course require bigger roads, all of which will be paid for by Maryland taxpayers?

+1. Also there is the bridge at Point of Rocks.

Can't believe all the ferry drama. It was a such a gimmick anyway. Took more time to load and unload than to drive to Point of Rocks.

New article on WTOP discussinh counties seeking options to open up Whites Ferry. The quote from Delvin, the owner of the VA land where the Ferry docks sounds greedy as hell. Their family inherited a ton of land and have had it for 200 years. They have done nothing with it and in fact she lives up north. Now, they are trying to cash in as they see the opportunity. It’s plain gross. The quote at the end, “we are trying to make it a working farm and farmers live off their land.” Please, she’s just a big money grabber. They have done nothing with that land, nothing to contribute to the community unlike other local landowners. It’s disgusting and I hope to God this counties annex her land for the best interest of the community.

Sorry, that response doesn’t cut it. Anyone who supports Trump also supports treason. So, yeah, you tell us everything we need to know about you with your treasonous Trump sign.

It looks like Virginia will enact eminent domain.

if white ferry had been paying their bills and following the rules of the lease, this never would have happened.

new owners of white ferry, new lease agreement.

property owners have the upper hand. if VA takes the property by imminent domain, that is theft. since then it would benefit a private company directly.

its not like taking property to make a road wider for a public project or utilities. they are taking property so a company can make money. hauling people across a river.

The is an old saying in Econ. Something is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. They would be stupid to sell for less if they can get more. If truly no one will buy it, then its overpriced. We will see. They don't have to sell for less than its worth to "contribute to the community." What utter shyte.
