There is a difference between a Republican an a Trump supporter.
I have plenty of friends who were Republicans when I met them. But they don’t support evil and unconstitutional acts, so they don’t support Trump. It says something about you as a person to support Trump |
PP is so right. My 50 yo white, male husband is a defense contractor and a former Republican. He comes from a long line of Rs, but they have lost him forever with their anti-science stance and poor management and they will never get him back. When you lose the middle age white guy from the rural west who works in defense contracting you know the party is going the way of the dodo bird. They also lost his mother and brothers who were proud Rs at one point. It’s too bad, because the party was a good balance to the DS at one point. |
| Wait til they start developing those golf courses out there...every librel in Reston will be triggered. |
hahah |
Golf courses are an abomination that should die off with the Boomers. |
They will be soon enough in Reston, rest assured. |
You chose this time in history to choose to be a Republican. |
Correct. I will never, ever, ever be friends with anyone who has such terrible, hatred-fueled, un-American values as to STILL claim to be a Republican. Those people are lower than low. In my America, people are equal, freedom means decent healthcare and a social safety net, we are a country built on immigrants, and both Jesus and Teddy Roosevelt hated billionaires— and would detest the grasping oligarchs that run today’s GOP. Move to a nice red area — or to Somalia — if you want to destroy government enough that you’re a Republican. If you’re a Christian, you’re going to hell (read about wealthy people in the Bible) and I’ll do everything I can to make sure you pay a price on Earth for your hate too. |
Commentary magazine has kept me sane the past 6 months. Also try WSJ Potomac Watch and 3 Martini Lunch. |
Good lord. You sound like a perfect target for the Republican propaganda. |
Progressives should not listen to Commentary's podcast. It might help them understand conservative views that are unrelated to Trump and alleged racism, and might confuse their world view of a conservative. I'd love to hear about an equivalent podcast for progressives that explain their politics without all the platitudes and actually talks political policies and the anticipated results, rather than bumper sticker slogans and virtue signaling. |
Please list every unconstitutional act and the article they violate |
| Did you not know this when you moved to Reston? I have been here 25 years and specifically chose it because of the values, community and political leanings. So move. . A gated community in Prince William county will be happy to have you. You can have a whole computer room to troll Parler. |
| Come to the mall - your people have been showing up every few week for protests. |
This is life for Republicans in NoVA, even in McLean where there is relatively more Republicans than the rest of the county. I used to live in Reston when I first got married. I loved the area in general, the convenience of the town center, the charm of the older part surrounding the golf course and lake that reminded me of Greenbelt Maryland where I grew up. Democrats, especially the progressives, are growing increasingly intolerant so just stay low. Repeat back what they want to hear. There is nothing to gain from being outspoken about politics. When they run out of Republicans to attack, they'll start attacking each other. Hopefully, that's when they'll realize how irrational their behavior is. |
