Made these this morning and although labor intensive, they were AMAZING! A new Christmas morning tradition as been started.

I didn’t think they were too labor intensive at all. However, I did all the work last night and kept in frig. What I didn’t think about was I used an emilie Henry stoneware baking dish and it took 2.5 hrs at room temp to get them to warm up and rise enough to bake! But we were patient. Next time I’ll use Pyrex.

THank you, you sweet darling! I made this this morning and they were perfect and heavenly. I've made any cinnamon rolls from various recipes and these are perfection.

I'm the one that posted the Lizzy T recipe - so happy that others in DCUM land enjoyed these as much as we do!

Yes, or a glass baking dish. I also use the tip in the recipe to turn my oven on at about 200 for a few minutes, then turn it off and let the dough rise in there.

So the cream doesn't make the rolls too mushy? I love the cinnabon rolls, so if they're like that I'll definitely give them a try. Just trying to figure out how the cream works with the dough.

^ Not sure how it works, but it definitely works! The dough absorbs the cream when baking.

No - it gives that creamy, decadent Cinnabon texture. Without the cream, you just get a really good cinnamon roll.

NP here, thanks to this thread I made the Lizzy recipe for Christmas morning. Prepped it on the 24th, put it in the fridge overnight, took it out first thing in the morning for a final rise while I preheated the oven and we opened stockings. I can confirm it was easy and absolutely delicious. Even better, the leftovers were still good today, not hard and dried out like most cinnamon rolls get after a day or two.

And thanks to another thread, we had sprinkles on them .

I just made the tasteofizzy cinnamon rolls. I didn't even have to glaze them. I just mixed whole milk with sweetened condensed and poured it over before baking. They had a great gooey bottom.

We just picked up Cinnabon rolls. Much easier

I made my usual recipe (the Serious Eats one) but was curious to try the pour of cream. It was a great idea! It made for good leftovers which is useful, because no family of 4 should eat a pan of cinnamon rolls all in one go!
I usually make one recipe, cut it into 16 pieces instead of 12, and divide it up into two cake pans. One goes in the freezer, one in the fridge for an overnight rise. The metal pans only need to be left out while the oven preheats, they warm up much faster for the morning bake than glass or ceramic.

I tried the Izzy recipe and then the King Arthur recipe of the year. The Izzy recipe is so good, you don't even need the icing! It was also easier to make!

OP here. OMG y’all! Just made the Lizzy T rolls this AM and had to come back and thank everyone who recommended that recipe. They are uh-mazing. Seriously delish, and not hugely complicated. Yikes, these are addictive. So rich. Nom nom nom
