As stated by the last post, the owner did do catering of small events, where I tasted them. I don't understand the need for such a negative post. The majority of businesses start somewhere without an existing shop initially. |
| I walked by on Monday and the sign said this week. They'll have illy coffee too- yum. And it looks like they are making an outdoor seating area adjacent to the store. |

"As stated by the last post, the owner did do catering of small events, where I tasted them.
I don't understand the need for such a negative post. The majority of businesses start somewhere without an existing shop initially." Sorry, but this whole post totally seems like a PR ploy to me. |
| I'm curious how many separate posters there are in this thread. I agree that this whole thing sounds like a discussion between one person and herself (or at most two people) to build hype. |

Frosting is OPEN!
I work across the street and saw a sign in the window this morning when I pulled into the parking garage "open" |
| I stopped by on Friday and picked up my fave, red velvet. I liked it better than Georgetown Cupcake. I'm glad because the lines at GC are surreal. It's nice to have an alternative. |
| i got some yesterday afternoon. i got the gluten free chocolate, so maybe it wasn't the best option, but it was only ok. i'll have to try a normal one and see if its better. |
PP here, and I don't know maybe it was the rain, but the staff weren't the friendliest, but they seemed to be high school girls...so whoo knows. |

If the owner of Frosting is reading this, have you considered using waxed paper bags instead of plain brown paper. I bought two cupcakes last weekend, carried them carefully, but by the time I got home the bag was a greasy mess. Doesn't look too appetizing if you're taking the cupcakes to a friend.
Also, I think you should tell customers that the white chocolate cupcakes have loads of mini-morsels in them. It's kind of disconcerting to bite into a cake and feel something rough in your mouth! Sometimes it takes new stores a while to work out the kinks--I wish you all the best! |
I think they already fixed this. I bought cupcakes the other day and they gave me a box that holds the cupcakes in place. |

Any idea how much a cupcake costs here?
I checked the website but can't get a menu to download. |

The cupcakes are just ok. But let me begin saying I received the worst and I mean the WORST customer service 2/18/12. Whatever happened to service with a smile? I ordered four cupcakes from Frosting. When I proceeded to pay, the lady snatched the $11.00 dollars out of my hand and tossed me my change. Her excuse was she is having a bad day. Then go home! You work in a bakery. You should be light and fluffy like the treats you sell. Instead, I was face to face with the Grinch. I'm the customer and you are taking your bad day out on me. Awful and very unprofessional staff. This experience was nothing but supersweet. I will not be back.

| I went once last summer and received horrible customer service as well. Have not been back since as a result - that and just okay cupcakes. |
| I'll perk up when someone opens up a cupcake place that serves mini Beef Wellingtons, or Bechamel Veggie Lasagnas, mini onion and gruyere tarts or pissaldiere and really, really good spinach and feta and sundried tomato quiches. I agree with the PP who said you can make 12 chocolate cupcakes at home for the price of one in these ubiquitous fondant and sugar pimp establishments. |
