Which is what peoole in any neighborhood with crime ask for. Its just the lefty city council and mayor that can't understand that residents seek proactive policing across the city, and prosecution once people are apprehended. |
You're mixing apples and oranges. There are huge differences between: - Domestic violence committed by people who know each other against people who they also know; - Petty crimes of property theft and vandalism by varying individuals; and - Organized crime syndicates (many times from multiple states away) that target specific areas for auto / bicycle parts stripping and reselling ( yes its a thing ); and - Human traffickers; and - a host of other things. The violence interruptors is one program of SEVERAL programs that focuses on specific communities in wards 7 & 8.... they have nothing to do with the concerns listed here. |
“Oh dear (clutches pearls) not the crack fueled days of the early 2000s” You sound stupid the true crack fueled days of DC were the 80’s long before you decided to stop by and gentrify. |
Ah, the tyranny of low expectations shows up again. How dare you, gentrifier, demand accountability!?! |
I don't know about all that but I know the doofus talking that dumb shit about the "crack fueled days of the early 2000's" sounds like they been hitting the pipe their damn self with that nonsense. |
How many more police officers do we need to prevent crime? Even MPD will tell you that doesn't work. |
That's what people who don't understand crime ask for. Police respond to crimes, they don't stop them. |
When we have catch and release, not it doesn't really work. I think the bigger failings are on the legal/prosecutorial side than with the police per se. |
Caucasian code for, "Cops should aggressively stop and frisk every Black male in the city between 10 and 50 years of age". Take that racist "proactive" bullshit and go *bleep* yourself |
True. But saying today isn’t so bad compared to the crack days of the late 80s isn’t saying much. The city should do better. |
Well, I used to drive home from work around dinner time through NE DC and every couple of days I would pass a swat team pulled up in a random neighborhood raiding a house. But I guess they weren't crack dens. Maybe "freedom dens" or "equity dens." But sure, DC didn't have a crack and violence problem in 2002. |
You can keep telling yourself that and asking to defund police while gangs shoot up block parties and interruptor events so people (Black people) are afraid to leave their homes or have their kids walk to school. It’s not CCDC that is truly suffering. |
Were you here in the 1980's driving through NE DC? No? Then STFU you have no idea what you missed - every couple of days was EVERY NIGHT at one time. |
Wait, so? Your point is so stupid. |
Never advocated for defunding. Did I mention anything about funding princess? No I said that bullshit PC phrase "proactive policing" is just code speak among white folks for, "Harass Black people minding their business". |
