My kids are going back 5 days a week in person next week. AMA!

a. Someone did this same AMA three days ago
b. This board is for DC parents. What does it matter what schools are doing in the MW?

I am not the OP. I live in Ontario and our kids go back to school full time next week. The province just released its policy stating that if one child tests positive, the each child in the class will be sent home until the earliest of 14 days or receiving a negative test. The turnaround time for tests here is about 48 hours.

Are your kids expected to wear masks all day? did you have them practice doing so at home or do you just want to punt that one on to their teacher

Students are being divided into pods of ten or less, with only one pod in a classroom at any given time. Lunch will be eaten outdoors, with a shelter for rainy days. A significant amount of instruction will occur outdoors as well. Masks will be worn by everyone except the two year olds who are totally separate from everyone anyway.

A private school with two year olds?

Wisconsin
About 85% of district families opted for in person per our building principal
No staffing shortages

Yes, our state has a mask requirement per Governor anyway, but district has stated they will keep the requirement even if the mandate is rescinded/expires

My kids have been in summer camp all summer and have worn masks all day already!

I see a lot of threads about how there’s no possible way (MoCo, FFX, DCPS) are going back in person at all this year, and I think it’s interesting to see what other districts are doing.

Extremely confident.

How you could possibly trust that students are going to do that? Parents send their kids to school sick all the time pre-covid.
