When to move into a sexual relationship?

Took it slower to meet with many FaceTime conversations, but then slept together on the first in person date. Too much tension had built up to resist.

And young DC singles are living their life like nothing has changed.

About a year for PIV sex because we were in college and I was afraid of unplanned pregnancy.

We only saw each other once or twice a week after we met due to schedules. We went on like this for maybe three months before we slept together so 12-24 dates(?). We’ve been happily married for 16 years.

three and a half years but we were in college and waited til our wedding night.
Not sure why it matters though, OP. This is a random polling of a sampling of a bunch of strangers who feel like answering, so it's not even that useful to you even if you were trying to gauge some kind of average "norm" behavior. I'm sure there are stats on this.
But the important thing is how YOU feel and how your partner feels. Not when anyone else did it or how they felt about it.

We hooked up first date but not sex. Married and still together.

I know couples who slept together the first night they met, and are happily married. I know the same of those who waited a year or two until the wedding night, and everything in between.

Those couples who hook up the first date then marry are weird. They hook up the first date without knowing if the other is infected or caring. Don't they realize how stupid their hookup date is and how many times the other has done it?

Married 20+ years and have 4 kids. Not infected. I had done it way more than him. All good. Thanks!

I was a date 3 girl, but honestly the most happy couples I know? A LOT of them were "one night stand, and then I took him home" situations. They didn't necessarily do that all the time, but they had the kind of fun, "take a risk!" personalities that I think worked and translated well into really fun, cool marriages. All of them in my sphere are thriving, don't have STDs, but are (generally) more adventurous in life in great ways.

I think a lot of these "sexless marriages" on DCUM which seem so prolific could be explained that neither party was ever into the sex to begin with. Or maybe there was some transactional sex for security thing, but all the couples I know who came out of "One Night Stadns" are like 100x more healthy than the shit your read here.

Fun cool marriages as in take bigger risks and get into swinging and poly? They may have dormant herpes if theyve been date one girls and guys.

Does it make sense to hook up on the first date with someone you just met and let them go down on you? Do you ask if they have herpes or other STDs and take their word for it? Does this person go on to have a happy successful marriage despite the risks?

First date and I had never done that before. We have been married for over 30 years and still joke that my Letters to Penthouse moment in my life happened with her.

Let’s face it asking DCUM about sex is like asking an eskimo about their a/c.
