What is Everyone Doing For Self Care?

I don’t drink, smoke or do drugs, and I work out. I hate jogging, but I force myself to do it anyway. Ice cream is my vice and reward.

Bike rides, JustDance app with my 9 yr old DD, talking with friends, long baths.

Boxing in my basement on a heavy bag

Working out (mostly running and strength training) and reading. I drink wine and watch mindless TV, a few days per week too, but if I'm honest, that is not as refreshing or relaxing for me as reading and working out. I need the TV/wine nights to unwind and get my mind off everything (to literally give my brain a rest), but it's not as therapeutic for me as the other activities.

Lots of walks - alone or with family or friends or the dog

I get up early and exercise before work with either a walk or a bike ride.

Long walks with the dog. And gardening -- somehow it's comforting that if I control the weeds and make sure they're getting enough water, everything is right in their world.

I've also cut back the wine to a single glass on Fridays and Saturdays, which is an improvement over April/May.

I don't work out* or jog but I still eat ice cream, in moderation.

*I do lift a 25lb toddler about 50 times a day and carry her around, in case that counts.

I walk "with" a friend (on the phone) some mornings, but it should be more frequently.

I don't know why that person eyerolled at Headspace, but it helps me too. Could be any app, any meditation or mindfulness practice. Could be 5 minutes per day.

I do this, too! It's been great. It's almost like we're together and since we both work during the day and nights are fill with family stuff, it's been so great to get so much friend interaction in the mornings.

It’s truly been a game changer.

I attend a mindfulness session online held by my employer. I try to attend twice a week. We also watch tv as a family in the evening and have game night once per week. I try to bake a new dessert or bread each week. It gives me a sense of accomplishment.

LOL. I was about to ask “What are yikes, and why the hell do you like them?”
