Food fight: Among chains, Ledo is the best pizza

I hate the weirdly textured crust + too much sugar in the sauce. Even my kids won’t eat it!

Ledos is horrid.

Pizza Hut is pretty good, although it was better when they had the pretzel crust.

This. I hate Ledo.

Plus our local one in River Rd, Bethesda is always filthy.

I love Ledo although it weirdly does not hit any of my usual check boxes for pizza. I think their cheese and meat quality is higher than most chains—I am super grossed out by gristley meat and dislike that cheese that is really oily or plasticy that a lot of chains use.
Other than Ledo, I usually make my own or get from a non-chain italian. Does mama luisa count as a chain around here? Their pizza isnt terrible although I don’t really crave it.

I love Ledo's! But I was thinking about their motto the other day, "Ledo's never cuts corners". Most other pizza places have round pizza, so they aren't cutting corners either, right? Hmmmm.

I was just about to say the same. I like Ledo’s, but we don’t even consider them for pizza night or when the kids’ have friends over. We usually get Mamma Lucia’s or Flippin’ Pizza. I buy Ledo’s when we are on our way back from a day downtown and they are ravenous in the car.

We were at Ledo last night! Have to say my son loves the annual trip to the beach and eating Grotto as many times as he can! (he's the super skinny one of the household, go figure!)

+1, another hater here. I dislike the crust and the sauce and consider it more a flatbread than pizza.

Ledo's is disgusting. I'd rather eat a frozen pizza.

Amen!

Really, pizza in Rome and Naples is disappointing??

DP, but yes, I thought it was.

Absolutely LOVE Ledo's!

There's good pizza all over the world - in DC I've liked Pizza Paradiso, Menomale, We the Pizza, 2 Amys, among others. When in Naples, I went to Da Michele, which is famous for claiming to be the place that invented pizza. I figured it would be decent, but went mostly for the novelty. But it really was better than anything I'd ever had.

Ledo's is awful, though. I prefer Dominos (which is consistently adequate, if not good).

Ugh, Ledo's and Grotto's are two of my least favorite pizzas.

Ledo's sauce is too sweet for pizza. I like it on pasta, but not on pizza. Grotto's reminds me of the horrible frozen pizza that was served 7x24 on cruise ships.
