No it’s not. The WHO is looking at contact tracing that was pretty thorough.

When did the large gathering of protester start in our area? Trying to gauge when we can expect the COVID-19 numbers to go up?

I think travel baseball and softball have already resumed in northern VA based on what my kid has told me. Maybe someone whose kids play these sports can weigh in?

Baring some crazy spike and set back things will be normal in fall. Maybe a few schedule differences to space. out games. Other than that you will see life in general moving on The risk reward that is economy driven is what will guide the actions more than health from here on out.

Yes, travel baseball has re-started. My travel baseball kid has a tournament this weekend in southern VA—spread over many different complexes so not normal operation.

My travel soccer kid has started virtual training with his new 20-21 coach. His club plans to do smaller group training once they can access fields.

I don’t really have any feeling yet about actual games in the fall.

Nope.

Numbers are starting to rise post-Memorial Day.

There will be another wave.

I think it is doubtful. HS are not having Fall team sports.

Our Club started small group training 2 weeks ago, but they are A MACHINE.

They posted pick up and drop off zones. No parents are allowed to step out of the car---and the one time I saw one that did they were on them immediately!

They have entry stations. Kids spaced. Forehead temperature reading. Sanitizing station- hands before entry to field.

There is no contact at this point. Groups of 8 spaced apart with Coach.

Post-training prior to next group arriving---balls are sanitized.

I can't see most Clubs having this ability. The Club is at one big facility with a big full-time staff. They have been so incredibly organized. They have sent videos of how the practices will be run and what safety guidelines and every parent had to sign waivers.

Until it can be accurately reported of cases/hospitalizations/deaths, and the more we learn about what ACTUALLY transmits and the more that can prevent, another 'wave' is just selective language.

Not yet. We need to be in phase two. Kids are getting together in small groups though so not whole team and the kids in small groups are doing more working out then contact because they cannot actually play if that makes sense.

Doubt we will have much of a fall season in Howard County. School fields are not taking reservations for 2020, so clubs that rely on those for games and practice are out of luck. Same for tournaments that use them. I think they are OK for casual use but that's it, nothing scheduled. Obviously affects not just soccer, but all club sports that were planning to use those fields in the fall.

Not really at this point...

Umm, No it was not thorough. In fact, take a look at the NY Times breakign feed:

Coronavirus Live Updates: W.H.O. Walks Back Claim That Asymptomatic Transmission is Rare

A top expert at the World Health Organization on Tuesday walked back her earlier assertion that transmission of the coronavirus by people who do not have symptoms is “very rare.”

Dr. Maria Van Kerkhove, who made the original comment at a W.H.O. briefing on Monday, said that it was based on just two or three studies and that it was a “misunderstanding” to say asymptomatic transmission is rare globally.

“I was just responding to a question, I wasn’t stating a policy of W.H.O. or anything like that,” she said.
