What was said by a frustrated DC Hyper coach/parents is that Alexandria parents said racists comments. Keep in mind that Alexandria futsal team is very diverse with mostly hispanic players. DC Hyper was upset that their style of play was incurring foul calls against them and the coach lost his mind. the parents followed suit. The coach pulled his team off the court in an outburst. Subsequently some DC Hyper parents said they heard parents saying racists comments to their players. The same players that told the ref to F off and walked up to him and flipped him off.

As you can tell a lot went on but it wasnt what is being portrayed as a coach getting called a name.

I didnt hear any racist comments. doesnt mean it didnt happen but it would mean a team with mostly minority players and their parents were slinging racial comments. You be the judge

Question: what style of play was incurring fouls? Was is 'setting picks'? An illegal play in which an offensive player attempts to impede the progress of a downfield defender in order to allow a teammate to get open for a pass.

Which team was upset and which was using 'illegal' style of play. Curious because we ran into similar issues.

DC Hyper plays a very agressive brand of futsal. Not saying its right or wrong. it is one they feel is required to teach the kids in order to play internationally. They charge a lot, slide tackle and are very physical. As a result they were warned repeatedly by the referee and ultimately it escalated as they continued with the same style. DC Hyper blames its on bad ref calls and the way it is played here in the USA.

If you want to know more you can go back in time to their instagram and social media postings. its all there. I know their coach quite well. He is a good guy but he lost his cool and the cops had to be called. DC Hyper lost the game as they forfeited.
Interestingly the same two clubs met in Regionals in Atlantic City a month later. Same coaches and all. End result was the same. Alexandria won and the coach lost his mind. This time he didnt get thrown out but after the final whistle was blown he stormed the refs table and so forth.

This is all well documented in an earlier thread somewhere on this site.

Charging, slide tackling and other types of physical play are fouls undler futsal rules. I am not sure why the coach was upset with the ref for calling the fouls.

I see that a person posted on ASA's page that there was not diversity at ASA, "at least at our level." Some teams are more diverse than others, but it isn't as though the red teams are routinely less diverse that white etc. Certainly, as the players get older, and it isn't just rich white kids whose parents are looking for something to do with them, the teams look more diverse.

Could these posts have gone more white? Who cares what the "style of play" or "how angry the coach got"? Facts relevant to this: did the Alexandria player/coach call someone a monkey. If yes, should be fired and banned from playing. Stop trying to rationalize hate.

Funny you skip what happened in Richmond and went straight to AC. What happened in Richmond? Same team same coach and DC Hyper won 7-1

No lets talk about AC where half the Hyper team didnt participate as they were needed elsewhere.

What are you talking about? Do you read anything or do you just jump to your racist minded dribble.

No one was called a monkey, where did you even hear this? This happened months ago and you are all ready now to fire and ban someone for something you want to believe someone said because you read some nonsense in a forum.

Our futsal team (Alexandria different year) was largely hispanic, but that isn't to say that a random parent might not make racist comments. I wasn't there so I don't know.

This isn't hard to find from ASA's post. That's the accusation. Sorry you want to argue about playing style. Or maybe you want to talk about how the team was "mostly hispanic". Or maybe you can just go full Foxnews and pick apart every aspect of his life. Or you could just focus on the one thing that matters.

Where's all the Alexandria staff now?

Even if the players were cursing flipping the finger etc. although both are wrong The racial slurs are not ok in any argument. to call someone a MF or F off isn't cool but its a direct insult based off off a single person not based off of race religion or ethnicity .

An assertion doesn’t mean fact. Again, both sides have their position.

Personally, if any pejorative was used, there probably would’ve been a fight. There may have been some “f you” back and forth, but usually a slur results in a swing. And if parents heard it, they would’ve made a LOT more noise about it

Yes, really broad minded of you to categorize a whole line of thinking in terms of color. Or have I gone too white in pointing that out? Grow up and broaden your own mind if you are telling others to broaden theirs. I know everybody involved here and really like the Hyper coach. But if you don't know what you're talking about, it is probably best to STFU and focus on people and situations you know.

Thanks Mr " I don't see color". Thanks for dropping the "I know black people" and "I've got a black friend" lines. Any other gaslighting tropes you want to hit?

If he takes a swing, your dumb @ss would be on here pontificating about how he should be more mature, violence isn't the answer, etc. Of course, this is after you call the police and get him beaten and arrested.

Doesn't swing, then it didn't happen.

People.....The coach in question is Serbian. He grew up in a racialized culture that rivals the American south in the early 20th century. Racial/tribal hatred is normalized to a degree that even most Alexandria parents might find shocking. It's a bit better now, but in the 90s when this guy grew up?

Funny thing is, people of African descent probably aren't even the main focus of his learned hate. Racial dynamics take different twists in other parts of the world. But you should have NO trouble believing that it happened.

I was there. There was already a thread on this incident. I was watching the game because my kid was playing next on the neighboring court.

I never heard any racial remarks, but it was loud and it certainly possible that there were but I never heard any.

I did see the DC Hyper go bananas towards the ref and the famously overpaid Tommy Parks had to physically separate the dc hyper coach from the ref. I was sure he was going to hit the ref. DC Hyper coach got a red card, kicked out of the building and the entire team walked and forfeited with about 3 minutes left.
