Not really sure what you mean by this. The post above is asking about clubs using school fields while the schools are still closed. Soccer practices take place at night anyway, and there is usually no access to the school buildings themselves. So if you are talking about the possibility of a soccer practice resulting in a COVID outbreak at the school, I don't get it. Or are you just talking more generally - that kids gathering for soccer practices might trade germs and therefore spread the virus into their communities? If so, what is the difference between practices at school fields vs other county owned fields? It seems to me that it's either deemed safe to return to play (in some fashion or another), or it's not. But there's no meaningful distinction to be made between practicing at school fields vs anywhere else.

As I understood the question above, the poster was asking whether clubs will be able to use the school fields once the non-school athletic fields re-open, even though the schools themselves will remain closed at least through July. No one (in this thread at least) was advocating trespassing. If the fields are closed don't go on them. It doesn't take a genius to figure that out, and I don't think any club is going to jeopardize its future permits by holding practices on closed fields.

Athletic fields supposed to re-open in Phase II, right? It's not inconceivable we'll be there by July. It's also not inconceivable the schools won't be open in the Fall, but athletic fields will be. It is pointless to speculate. There are too many factors in play, including how the virus spreads in the summer and how federal, state and local authorities react.

School fields are county fields though. School sports use have first priority but beyond that they really don't have much of a say. If the schools aren't using the fields it will be up to the county parks authority and they will open them on the same conditions as the other fields.

They seem to have punted on some of the face masks issues early on. Our team has said that they will follow CDC guidelines on face masks during play but there is no way I will let my child play with a face mask. We will be opting out if that is a requirement.

It's great that fields are opening but this delay on permitted use smacks of laziness. Why would you not go directly to it? If your concern is safety, permitted use would at least offer some adult regulation.

At least some of the private schools are making their fields available in July. I expect public schoolS and parks will as well. Some people seem a bit out of touch with how reopening is proceeding.

I agree. The permits could be subject to the ten person requirement. I think the parks department is hoping leagues cancel summer sessions and then they don’t have to deal with permit work.
