PPA soccer refund...on par with other soccer programs?

It has been a tough decision to figure out how much we can offer. We have incurred a significant proportion of the costs that go into a season, even though we have not been able to play. We have made it a priority to pay all of our coaches through the entire season. We have also made it a priority to support PPA families who have been most devastated by the pandemic first. So here is what we have come up with:
The first option is to contribute your registration fee towards PPA and forego a refund this season. We recognize that this is a big ask, but these contributions will go directly to our efforts in supporting other families in need, supporting our coaches who rely on their PPA wages, and supporting the long term sustainability of our club. If you choose this option, you do not need to do anything, but if you would like, send us an email letting us know, so we can respond with an email in kind with our sincerest appreciation.
The second option is a 25% cash refund, a 25% credit towards Summer programming, and a 25% credit towards Fall programming. This is our best attempt at a compromise between what we can afford and what we think is right by you for missing the season. If you would like to choose this option, please click here. We are asking that you let us know if this is your choice by May 3rd. We will begin processing these requests on May 4th.
The last option is to apply for a larger refund through our Covid Financial Relief Program. We announced this program in our last update as a means to offer our support to families that were most seriously impacted. If you would like to apply for further compensation, please apply through our Covid Financial Relief Program, and we will try to work with as many applicants as we can.

My kids are involved in three different sports and music lessons, and we have received no refunds or discounts. My kid does MSI classic and there have been no refunds for team registrations as of yet, they are still pretending they are going to be able to have a spring season before the fall.

Is it even legal to not give a full refund if they didn’t run the program? I don’t understand how they can just keep our money when no service was provided.

If they applied for PPP then it covers salaries and other costs. If that’s happened then no need to ask parents to keep paying to cover coaches’ salaries.

I heard some clubs like Bethesda got PPP funding and still kept their staff furloughed and reduced.

bethesda was office staffed until very recently, and I believe as of a week ago they hadnt heard about whether they were getting anything from PPP

If you don't run the program, you better give people a full refund.

How can you charge for a service, and not provide that service?

There are articles today about New York Sports Clubs (a gym), which collected membership fees into April and hasn’t issued any refunds. There are 2 lawsuits that were brought against them and the NY AG is now involved. NYSC has now backed off and stopped collecting fees. Clubs here better be careful; there are a lot of lawyers in this town and it only takes one being miffed at how it’s being handled to sue or call up the AG.

That combined with PPP makes me wonder if we are effectively paying coaches salaries through the summer and fall...

I'm not a PPP expert, but be interested if this covers 1099 "employees" as I believe some clubs still operate under this model.

But regardless this is why ( I stated above) that that last relief program is crap. Dont relieve other families with my money, relieve me with my money.

I was able to get a 100% refund. You have to push.
