What does us club soccer have to do with this thread? |
| NTCs are run by us club soccer... |
|
Or US Youth Soccer for that matter? Neither run the NTCs |
Try again. US Club Soccer runs PDP and the ID2 stuff. Now, since the DA, US Club Soccer is hosting ther own NTCs for ECNL players since fewer and fewer of them are getting invites. |
Ahhh yes! The DCUM trump card. Even though my kid went regularly to NTCs and I still say it has politics to it. But sure yeah, it's just jealousy to acknowledge actual problems in the system. |
Both sides are correct on this one. There is a lot of politics in soccer in the US (as there is in all sports where kids aren’t ranked by their time in an event) and a lot of parents who overestimate their kid’s talent and are jealous and bitter when other, more talented kids are selected ahead of theirs. |
If this is true, it’s ridiculous and spiteful. Those players should move to DA if they want to go to real NTCs. The ECNL is the Confederacy of soccer. |
Yep lol FCV 04 team. It is ALL political and a joke. She shouldn’t be representing it is such a huge conflict of interest. |
Not jealous, feed up! The scout shouldn’t be a parent of an 04 player at FCV. You don’t see the conflict in that? Oh you must be an FCV parent. |
|
mm Are you kidding? The scout for this area literally tells the kids from ECNL if they want to continue to go to the NTC they must change to FCV a DA club. Ridiculous. |
The message to move to DA is the US Soccer message. They have been warning for a couple of years that they will stop giving ECNL the same looks. They want only FT, year round players. But driving them to FCV instead of just saying any area DA is unethical. |
Both practices are repugnant. Shouldn't we be trying to get the best players under the microscope, regardless of league? And what about all the players in states with no ECNL or DA? I guess they are SOL. |
|
FCV story is sad but represents how broken the scouting process is. Scouts are blinded by big strong fast players and hinge their decision making on insufficient data.
Best players are sometimes sent. Coaches/Directors sometimes advocate for their players, sometimes push players to go that shouldn't or don't do either of the two. |
