What meal do you eat that’s around 400 cals and is filling when you’re dieting?

Soups and stews!

It’s really easy to get a filling meal from hearty stew without a lot of calories. Some favorites:

Red lentil soup
Vegetarian chili
Thai coconut curry soup with tofu

Broccoli slaw and ground beef, sometimes you can find recipes called "inside out egg rolls"

cook some ground beef or pork
sautee a bag of broccoli slaw with garlic and ginger (use the tubes) and a bit of soy sauce
(add some bell pepper slices if you have time)
mix it all together and top with siracha and chopped scallion

It is delicious.

I've been eating konjac noodles and rice lately. Not bad. Texture reminds me of calamari. If you like calamari....

https://downshiftology.com/recipes/apple-sausage-stuffed-butternut-squash/

Dont use the amount oil listed in the recipe, just a light brush of oil on the squash. Use 1lb mild chicken sausage vs the 0.5lb pork sausage in the recipe. Use a tiny amount of goat cheese as a garnish. This makes 3-4 servings for us 380-510 calories depending on the amount of squash and amount of goat cheese.

It is amazingly good and filling. You get nuts, 2 veggies, a fruit, and protein.

What is skinny pasta

Skinny Pasta is a brand of Konjac noodle - very low calorie (9 calories per serving), no carbs, they are mostly fiber. This is the only brand of this type of noodle that I care for.

I make a delicious Pho using ground chicken meatballs, Skinny Pasta, fresh garlic, ginger, salt, pepper chicken broth, spring onions and Bok Choy. It's filling and low calorie.

That sounds awesome.

I just had this last night, but with ground chicken. I didn’t have ginger or onion, but I seasoned with garlic, sesame oil, soy sauce, chili sauce, sriracha, rice wine vinegar. Had it with some steamed brown rice, but you could have it without rice.

I made an easy weeknight chicken enchilada recipe.

tortilla
rotisserie chicken, shredded,
black beans, rinsed,
enchilada sauce
mexican cheese blend

I added poblano pepper, jalapenos, fresh cilantro and a hot sauce. SUPER filling and right around 400 calories. So filling I did not eat the rice I made for everyone else.

Trader Joe's butter chicken microwave entree. 270 calories, and eat it with some steamed veggies like broccoli. Even better, eat it with broccoli and half a package of their yellow tadka dal, a serving of whichever has 130 calories. Very filling and satisfying.

One whole head of large cabbage is around 300 calories. Cook some onions, some tomatoe paste to it, add water, put slices of cabbage, cook for 25 minutes. You will have two large plates of food to eat. And it is healthy! Add some meat for 100 calories and done.
