Clearly I know that but do not want to do that yet because it could get back to my kid’s team. Hence why people ask questions on a message board. Hope you are not an FCV coach. |
trust me - it wont. You simply aren't that important. They don't sit around having beers asking what little kid showed up where. |
| Why did STJ buy FCV if they don’t plan to move the DA to their facility? I can’t imagine the DA is such a cash cow that they want to own it and leave it in Loudoun. |
Something does seem fishy. I wonder what the FCV nooks looked like - and how accurate they were. |

| how was the try outs yesterday? More talent? did the 20-30 girls show up? |
People who live in Loudoun are not going to travel to Springfield. We were told that TSJ bought FC Virginia because they wanted to develop and expand their soccer presence in the Springfield area. Not to make Loudoun players commute out of the area. I think they know that if they move FCV, a majority of the players would be switching clubs. With MU DA down the street and Loudoun ECNL as good alternatives, it's not an ideal business plan to move. Springfield during rush hour is a nightmare. |
Well, TSJ will have to rip the band-aid off sooner or later. |
| Loudoun ECNL 07 Is number one in ranking right now imagine if those girls went to FCV? FCV is no longer a girls powerhouse It will keep going downhill they would get lucky because they will take the best players from loudoun they can't do that anymore |
There are probably only a couple of girls on FCV who could make the Loudoun Roster now anyways. The tables have turned |
Here we go again. Same story as the Loudoun 06, 05, 04, 03, 02, 01...1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 years ago. Take a look at Loudoun 06 vs. FCV 06 aor Loudoun 05 vs. FCV 05 (the last two of this commentary). As the teams age, the talent leaves Loudoun and goes elsewhere. Until that stops happening, Loudoun Dad's perennially wrong opinions are worth exactly nothing. Next year we will hear how the 08s at Loudoun have all the talent and that FCV has none. Then 09s, etc... |
How many Loudoun ECNL 07's have been migrating to FCV over the last two years? |
If they are good enough and want to play at a higher level, they will. History has shown that to be true for every year for a very long time. |
Things have changed. History is not linear. It was always about the showcase and getting in front of college coaches. ECNL was the best at it before DA and there were only two teams available to showcase on. That is no longer the case. Loudoun has ECNL, VDA, McLean, BRYC all have ECNL. All these clubs offer the same ability to showcase. Arlington has DA, Metro has DA as well as FCV. All these clubs have options to showcase. The only kids leaving now are kids who are not getting playing time at their current club. So, perhaps in time Loudoun ECNL kids may move to FCV but they will not be the starters. Both FCV and Loudoun will simply swap their bench players over the coming years. Loudoun will no longer suffer a talent drain as they had in the past. the old days of FCV and McLean accumulating talent because they had a monopoly are over. |
The only common opponent found for 07s is Penn Fusion DA. Loudoun lost to them 2-1. FCV plays them soon. However, FCV is at the top of the U13 DA Atlantic standings above second place Penn Fusion. So saying "there are probably only a couple of girls on FCV who could make the Loudoun roster now anyways. The tables have turned." seems kind of absurd and arrogant. |
