Electric - Which - Not Tesla

I wonder if you all think the new Mercedes will be a cheap knock off.

I really didn't like how the Tesla drives when I tried it out. Have any of you actually driven a Tesla?

Here is a good website for comparing models and prices

https://drivegreen.greenenergyconsumers.org/form_cars.php

I also really like the VW ID4 and the Buzz (the electric van).

On that note, how do you know the Benz will be so wonderful?

I love our Chrysler Pacifica plug-in EV hybrid minivan. T goes 37 miles all electric, plugged into just our regular house outlet. I can do my regular commuting and errands with it no problem. And it can take us longer trips in Hybrid mode when needed.

This. This is the only option, OP. And you know it. You know you want one. Every other e-car only wishes it was the Tesla.

There are about 40 electric vehicles in the manufacturing pipeline that you will see in the next 5 years, some as soon as this model year. I can assure you that they don’t all wish they were Tesla. There are some really nice looking (and well engineered) cars on the way!

The cars may not wish they were a Tesla but the drivers sure will the first time they take a road trip and realize the non-Tesla fast-charging infrastructure is expensive, slow, and practically nonexistent compared to the Supercharger network.

LOL, the Taycan?

You're right it's not a Tesla. It's slower, has less range, and is significantly more expensive than even the highest priced Tesla!

Not the pp, but they're already out in Europe. My DH had the chance to drive one while there on business. He loved it and is already planning on replacing our current car with the Mercedes electric when it is finally available in the US.

Neither of us likes the Tesla. Just think it's an ugly, very much overrated car.

We have a BMWi3, and my husband is obsessed with it - I just like it okay. It's fast and fun to drive, but it takes the potholes and road bumps like a flexible flyer wagon. Curiousto try the Volvo XC40 Recharge.

But it looks sweet! Honestly, if you’re driving a Tesla, it’s mostly for appearances anyway, so why not do it in a car that actually looks good? I find nothing special about the styling of any of the Teslas, and some of them are just plain ugly.

I love my Leaf. I got it used (from someone buying a Tesla) and it’s comfortable and fun. Cost of ownership is super low. We have an ICE car we take for road trips, but we use the e-car for most driving and commuting.

that is what I am waiting for- I want to be able to get to Massachusetts with only one stop to recharge.

My best friend has a tesla 3 and I have a bolt.

I sort of like mine better, honestly. The Apple/android comparison seems apt, except the premium for the Tesla is a LOT more, and some people genuinely do like android better.
