Did your girl grow more (in height) after she got her period?

DD got her period a few months after turning 11 and grew another 2.5 inches. She had a significant growth spurt just before, too. I’m not sure if she’s still growing (she’s 13 now) but she’s held steady at 5’4 and 1/2 inches for about a year, I think.

DD got her period at 12 and was about 5'3 then.

She's 14 and is 5'4 and a half at her last check in. So 1.5 inches since her period, but she really seems to be slowing down in growth. Her big growth spurt was 11-12

DD1 got her period at 12 and shot up 4 inches in the six months that followed. She didn’t grow more after that and is basically 5’9.

DD2 is 13 and hasn’t started but should soon because all the signs are there. She’s been filling out and grown 7 inches in the last 10 months. She’s 5’6” now and her doctor says she has another 2-3 inches in her.

My DD was 5’2” when she got her period at 10. She’s now 5’7”.

It is normal for growth to taper off at period onset. Many girls get their full height at that point.

I was 5'9" when I got my period in 7th grade. I'm still 5'9" at age 42.

DD started period about 6 months ago at age 12, 4’11. she has always been about 50th percentile for height, and 30th for weight. She looks thin and tall, but really isn’t that tall. Hoping there will be post period growth spurt, but not yet!

Were your parents tall? My DD is short, I’m short, my mother is short. I don’t have much hope she’ll sprout too much more. If you’re meant to be tall, then lots of growing can happen after your first period.

I grew maybe another 1.5 inches. Was just over 5'6" at age 12 when I got my period. I'm 5"8' now. I was always the tallest in the class, and then slowly some girls caught up, but mainly the boys all surged past me starting in middle school, and then high school. Boys grow crazy weird. I had one friend leave 8th grade the same height as me and show up for 9th grade 6'4". He was skinny he looked like he could break in 1/2!

I grew about 2" after getting my period at 13 1/2.
