80 Day Obsession has mostly hour long workouts, while 21 Day Fix are much shorter. 80DO has separate cardio (2 days) and weight days (4 days), although your heartrate will also go up on the weight days. 21DF is more of a mix of both, and I think is tougher in terms of the cardio - it's really hard to jump right in to jump squats with weights for 1 minute, which is something that workout would do. 21DF is also the same 5-7 workouts repeated, where as 80DO is the first program that they recorded a video for each and everyday. So it totally depends on your preference and style. I personally preferred the 80 day, but I think people felt they preferred the 21 Day because they thought they'd get better results with the tougher cardio aspect. 80 Day totally changed my body though so it worked better for me. |

I love the workouts but hate that they switched to streaming only. I don't want to pay $$$ forever and ever to have acccess to the videos; I would prefer to pay once and own them forever. I own Insanity, Max 30, T21, and P90x. The original Insanity is still my fav; I still do Pure Cardio 2x a week. I do not Shakeology; it messes with my blood sugar.

What about for people just getting back into shape? |

I did P90x, and I found that the only effect of the workouts was to make me a bit better at... P90x workouts. I didn't really get stronger or in better shape or more bouncy on the basketball court (all things I had hoped for).
Lifting heavy made me stronger. Doing layups drills and hitting the backboard with my hand every time (like when I was a kid) brought back some of the bounce on the basketball court. Dieting made my abs pop. P90X did none of those. For the degree of difficulty/pain/DOMS, I found very, very low benefit. |
