Any Early Predictions for ISL Next Season?

Oh Please. The WaPo rankings are pure bs. No DC area public school belongs on that list. Absolutely worthless list.

With what they are returning, St Stephen's is going to absolutely crush people this coming season. Visi will be way down with a couple of highlights returning on attack, and BI will benefit from the returning combo of their All-American midfielder and attacker, but otherwise, St Stephen's will roll over people. They are returning 18 of 24 and their 2021 class is really, really strong on offense and defense. As a FH parent this pains me to say but having watched their teams this summer, I think I'm right. Be interesting to track all the commitments come Sept 1, and see if my hunch is correct.

Visi is a total machine, will be unbeatable this year, no doubt!

Weren't people using the word machine last year, too? Definitely gonna be beatable! Predicting a pretty painful year. At least it will be entertaining watching their obnoxious parents on the sidelines. They will go nuts!!! Predict they turn on the coach about half way thru the season. Can't wait :D

Visi is gonna be awful. Graduating 11 - 8 starters, 90 percent of their scoring and their starting defense. Do the math.

It will be between Stone Ridge and Saints.

Won’t the best indicator of team strength be this falls recruiting of the schools junior class recruiting that starts tomorrow?

It is very unlikely that there will be a huge crush of commitment offers tomorrow, this week or even this month. Will coaches start making contacts? Yes. It is a process.

Honestly I don't buy that at all. This class is different in that its the first full class to go thru the new process. So the top girls at the top clubs will go quickly to the top schools. So like the PP said while yes its the start our MD club believes that it will wrap by months end at the latest, and based on their track record we don't have reason to doubt it. Not sure what the DC or VA clubs believe but that's what we're thinking based on the feedback from college coaches to our club.

Doubtful. Hope you didn't tell the girls that they will be done by the end of the month.

+1 And this is coming straight from several college coaches' mouths.

If you look at the Inside Lacrosse and Back of the Cage commitment lists, there are roughly 75 girl D1 2021 commits nationwide so far. And of those, it looks like a almost 25 percent are from the DC area split between St. Stephen's, Bishop Ireton, Stone Ridge, Georgetown Visitation and Collegiate (although probably a little south to be considered part of the DC region). Is this normally the case to have that big a percentage from this area, as it looks like Baltimore area has about the same with the rest being Northern Jersey, Long Island and Massachusetts? Has anyone looked at these by club or even hs or is it just too different year to year with the class differences? Just trying to help DD decide on HS and club to try out and apply to, and thought that might be another way to look at things.

Those lists (which I just reviewed) are both missing many 2021 girls from the Washington-Baltimore area who have committed to schools since Sept 1. Neither publication has anywhere near a complete list for our area so it’s safe to say they are far from complete for 2021 girls from other areas. Also the high school the kid goes to is irrelevant. No college coaches watch high school games. They recruit from club tournaments and camps/clinics.

But to the questioners point, assuming he or she wants their dd to play with girls who are on a path they’d hope to replicate, hows that a bad question? Not arguing where coaches recruit from but seemed like all of us the questioner was just trying to take a painfully opaque system a little more transparent. Or at least that’s how I took their questions.
