Too soon to ask AART for packet?

I think you need to ask yourself why you’re so worried about this.

I don’t have an applicant this year but I did want to know the GBRS to see if that made me more likely to know what the result would be instead being in limbo. In the end the GBRS still made it 50/50 (and kid was admitted).

And so what? Seriously what difference would it make to have a “more likely” indication in February versus a solid answer in May. Even if your kid might go to a different school, what difference does a couple of months make? Did you need to put in a down payment on aftercare in case your kid got in? Were you planning to sell your house?

Or was it that you just needed to know to be in control? Why can’t you be in limbo?

Idk I work and have 3 kids. The more time I had to prepare the better - lots of logistics to consider. And honestly I was confused about the process. I wasn’t going to parent refer and I loosely thought if he tested in that was be it and I would know. I didn’t realize that you tested in to a pool and then were in limbo for 3 months. I get that some ppl are not planners but I am a planner.

OP here. Wow, so much negativity. My son is 99% on both tests, but I am concerned about gbrs. I need to know if I need to schedule a Wisc.

Even with a low GBRS, I think your kid will get in with 99% on both tests. The only way I could see your son getting rejected is if he's at or below grade level in several subjects, gets poor grades, and produces poor work. In the unlikely event that he gets rejected, you'll still have time to schedule a WISC before appeals are due. The people who are in pool on NNAT only or barely in pool on one test, but low on the other are the ones who might want to know GBRS for WISC purposes. Your son is fairly safe with 99% on both tests.

Thank you. I appreciate it.

When are the packets submitted?

Last year our AART would not give me a copy of the packet until decisions were mailed. It was very frustrating that some parents were getting them much earlier and had more time to prepare an appeal, schedule a WISC, and others were told no. One more example of how random it is depending on your school. Some get the test results weeks before others, some the files, etc. why isn't it more uniform across FCPS?

actually this smart because it gives you info about your kid, if you need/want to appeal you can provide addl feedback that would add to gbrs description of your kid

Popping my popcorn now to watch this forum blow up when parents get their packets and see that the GBRS is no longer a number rating.

You are sad. Why don't you get off this board and go pay attention to your children.
