Too soon to ask AART for packet?

What do you think?

I waited until I knew it was after the deadline for it to be submitted. Someone here posted a board doc with the timeline.

What? We haven’t even had our screening meeting at school.
Stand down. And take a pill.

Wait until March to ask.

When are the screening meetings at the school, who attends them and what happens at them?

I think you need to ask yourself why you’re so worried about this.

I don’t have an applicant this year but I did want to know the GBRS to see if that made me more likely to know what the result would be instead being in limbo. In the end the GBRS still made it 50/50 (and kid was admitted).

^^ for us kid changed school and that was a big limbo to be in.

And so what? Seriously what difference would it make to have a “more likely” indication in February versus a solid answer in May. Even if your kid might go to a different school, what difference does a couple of months make? Did you need to put in a down payment on aftercare in case your kid got in? Were you planning to sell your house?

Or was it that you just needed to know to be in control? Why can’t you be in limbo?

DP, but I think that for some people, knowing the GBRS helps them decide whether to schedule a WISC or not. Some people don't like scrambling for a WISC in that small timeframe between rejection letters and the appeals due date, so they would prefer to know whether rejection looks likely at an earlier date.

I would wait until the files are turned into the county, not just when your deadline was. Give it 2 weeks. Then ask. Our registrar showed me the girls, so really the art wasn’t even involved when I wanted to look at it.

*gbrs.

The AART at my child's school acted like I was a weirdo for asking to see the file (this was a few years ago) and I asked after the files had been submitted. I found the information really useful as it contained much more feedback about my child's abilities than the generic comments on the report cards or even from parent-teacher conferences.

I agree.
