No one seems to have any details on this other than innuendo about a football related rape.
Did anything really happen or is it more DCUM related BS, PR, and anti-PR? My bet is on the latter. |
It's actually more common than most people realize. We don't think our strong, athletic, popular sons have to worry about such things, but they do. Never hurts to be more aware: https://sportsday.dallasnews.com/high-school/high-schools/2018/05/24/special-report-culture-hazing-bullying-high-school-sports-getting-worse https://usatodayhss.com/tag/hazing |
| What does any of that have to do with DCU, which has not been implicated for/with anything of the sort? |
|
I’m the PP who mentioned rape. My intent is NOT to imply anything about this soccer thing, but to warn you all that serious assaults can hide under the “bullying” or “hazing” labels, especially when it’s the school or organization who uses the term. And I gave the most recent (known) local example. |

Still waiting for the criminal charges on this complete BS “story” posted with no direct accounts and no description of what happened.
Not holding my breath. Twain was right. A lie travels around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on. No better quote summarizes most of the crap posted on this board. |
| What does “gaming up on smaller kids” mean? Does anyone actually have any knowledge of what is going on with DCU DA? |
| Nothing. This is all unsubstantiated BS. Happy new year |
|
They made the rookies lie down on the double yellow on NY Ave. Oops, that's a different fictional movie.
|
Unfortunately it is not BS. Four players have been kicked out of the club. Who they are will become apparent as soon as the Spring season starts and their names stop showing up on game reports. It would not be right to post details here because both the perpetrators and the victims are minors, but it was bad. The behavior was serious enough that they were not just reprimanded, disciplined, or suspended. They were immediately released from the club. |
Are you a parent of a victim or perpetrator? If not, what is your source? If you have direct knowledge, why can’t you post exactly what happened without providing names? Kids are added or dropped from rosters for many different reasons. Having kids come off a roster doesn’t really mean anything in terms of cause, so if the expectation is that people should believe something happened because a roster changed, that’s just silly. |
| Seems to me that they would have to release some statement from the club, just reference that if you want to keep your nose clean. |
Agree. Also if anything truly serious/illegal (for example, assault of any kind) were done, the DCU would have an obligation to notify the authorities and this would have made the news. Haven't heard/read anything about this in the media as yet... |
| This smells like someone is ticked off at club. As much as I hate the commercialism of soccer in this area, let's keep it clean. |
I totally disagree. Any bad behavior would reflect poorly on the kids and parents. Any corrective action would reflect very well on the club. I say this as somebody with absolutely no interest in this club or its DA rivals. |
| But we don’t of any corrective actions that are tangible, just what an anonymous poster said on this board. |
