Do you consider 5 feet 9 inches at 160 pounds fat/chubby?

In all seriousness, doesn’t everybody care about what others think of their bodies?

No, we don't. And it really seems insecure and needy to go on an anonymous forum to put in one's height and weight and hope for validation.

No way. Unless you have a tiny frame.

160 lbs of muscle would not be chubby.

That's a bananas rule, my frail grandmother probably came up with it. Normal BMI for someone 5 feet tall ranges from 95 to 128 lbs. As a couple people stated above, 145 lbs can look creepy on a 5'9" person.

I'm 5'9" and muscular with a medium frame. I work out a lot, weights and HIIT.

I feel and look best around 140 lbs., which is my current weight. After I turned 40, the weight crept on and I got up to the high 150s. Nobody would have called me chubby, but I didn't like how I felt.

I was soft around the middle and clothes just didn't hang as nicely. I felt less energetic. I just didn't feel comfortable in my skin at that weight, so I made a bunch of diet changes and got back down to my preferred weight.

Again, I think frame is important. I am 5 9 with a broad-shouldered frame and I think I look way too skinny if I go below 135.

Depends on frame and muscle.

Depends on frame. When I weigh 150 I like ok too thin. My doctor said 170 is perfect. I have a huge head, big shoulders, etc,

I’m 5’9” and 170 right now, which is a little chubby and a size 10. At 155-160 (which I’m working at right now) I’m a size 6-8 and not chubby. I’m pretty fit which makes a difference. I guess in a world where size 0 is the only acceptable size a 6-8 might seem chubby but it’s really not.

Goodness no. I’m 5”10 and 165. People always say how tall and slim I am. I’d actually like to be closer to 150 but not willing to go hard on diet and exercise. People on DCUM are a skewed sample.

can you post a pic?

BMI is often an inaccurate measure. It doesn’t take frame or muscle into account & is generally skewed toward labeling shorter people as being thinner/healthier.

This is my height and is my goal weight. I look best at 160ish. Once got down to 137 and it looked terrible on my frame.

And if I'm insecure and needy, is that really a reason to be so mean and critical as a response?

PP has a BMI of 17.7, which is very underweight. She is actually at higher risk of death or illness right now than if she gained 40 lbs.

PP, I'm really into keeping a low weight too, but you're dangerously over the line.

I'm 5'8" and 155 and definitely not chubby. I am very muscular and athletic and wear a size 6. Your results may vary.
