Do you consider 5 feet 9 inches at 160 pounds fat/chubby?

S/O from a previous poster. Do you consider 5 feet 9 inches chubby?

Also, do you agree that with each inch, you can add 5 pounds? Or is this a myth?

Yes. I'm 5'8" and nowhere near 160 pounds. I'd be fat/chubby even at 150.

Ha. I'm 5'8" and 170. I'm soft in the middle and certainly not skinny. But I don't think anyone would call me chubby or fat. I'd like to be 160, because I think that's a bit healthier for me.

Your body type really does matter here. My weight gets pretty evenly distributed, which helps me disguise it a bit more. I have some friends who gain weight completely in their stomachs, which is clearly not easy to disguise at all.

I'm 5'9" and 160 and people comment on how tall and thin I am. I feel better at 145, but hey - middle age. I agree that body type probably matters here.

I'm 5'8, 160, and regularly asked whether I do CrossFit (no, but other exercise). Totally depends on your body type. If I go much below 150 I start to look creepy skinny.

The BMI indicates normal weight, so no.

These threads are so stupid. It totally depends on body type. Carrying fat around one's middle looks chubby, while people who carry fat in their butt, breasts or thighs might look more curvy. And athletic people may be much heavier than they look.

Also: Why do you care what other people think about your height and weight ratio?

In all seriousness, doesn’t everybody care about what others think of their bodies?

NP: I"m 48 and I really don't care what anyone besides my husband I think about my body. I'm 5'7' and 160 lbs. Could I stand to lose some weight? Sure but, frankly, I'm unwilling to do what it takes. My husband is happy and I'm at peace with it. Everyone else: if you're judging my mom bod, that's on you.

Yes to chubby. I am 5'6" and 145 lbs. I definitely would say I'm chubby.

No. I'm a 5'9" hourglass and 160 is my normal weight (healthy BMI, looks good, feasible to maintain with daily exercise). I've been 150 and I looked great but I worked out constantly to maintain it.

Currently overweight at 190 and zero exercise. I would describe myself as heavy or overweight. For "fat" I think of rolls. For "chubby" I think of cherubs and small animals, not tall adults.

No, 160 is a good weight for me, if I have muscle.

Your body type really does matter as pp says and your level of fitness. I'm quite muscular and 5'3" so 144 pounds looks very different on me than it would on someone else.

Yes, I would. I always learned that 100 lbs for 5 feet and 5 lbs per inch was the most you should be. I am 5'6" and 125 lbs and I could definitely lose some fat in my stomach and thighs. I think it depends on how much of that weight is muscle though.

160 lbs of muscle would not be chubby.

I’m 5’9 and 120. I can’t imagine 160. My frame is pretty slim and I do not have big bones, but I could never add 40 lbs without feeling fat.
