Congrats, OP!

I’m not sure a high beta means a strong embryo. Both of my kids have low first betas (300-400).

These numbers are meaningless unless they are in the context of how many days past ovulation. My first beta was 116 at 16dpo.

When I said first beta, I mean the first blood test after the two week wait. The range of normal is so big and having a high beta does not means strong embryo. I’m not even sure what it means anyway.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you, OP!

I'm the PP that mentioned "strong" embryo. It was the phrasing my RE used at the time when I questioned whether or not such a high beta at that point was a concern, as most people I knew had betas in the hundreds in that timeframe.
Didn't mean to cause some sort of consternation with wording, sorry.

My first beta was 41 at 13dpo and I have a very strong toddler! I call bs on “strong embryo.”

It's not a brag post. A very high first beta can be an indicator of an ectopic. Mine was 3000ish at my first beta, which if I remember correctly was 12-14 days past transfer. They had me go in for an early ultrasound to rule out an ectopic. Fortunately it wasn't and we went on to have a healthy baby girl.

I'm the "strong embryo" PP. Fine. Maybe my RE was just trying to give me something positive to think about after so much disappointment, who knows. Fact of the matter is, I have friends who had betas as low as 100 at 14dp5dt, and we all now have perfectly healthy babies/toddlers.

a very high era can indicate molar pregnancy.

This. Or twins. 2300 can be perfectly normal, but it *is* very high. I would be nervous too, especially if I was sure of my dates (I think some reported variability in both directions is from folks whose dates are off) and didn't want twins.

OP here. Just for those who might read this thread in the future. It was identical twins. I went in for my 7-week ultrasound today and there was no heartbeat. Scheduling a D&C for next week.

Sorry for your loss, OP. Sending you a big hug.

I am so very sorry for your loss, OP.

Oh gosh....just awful. I am so sorry. Please tell me you were on progesterone, though.

This is OP. Yes, I've been on progesterone. I experienced some very light spotting last week - just a few drops - and it worried me at the time. I called Shady Grove and they were not concerned, said it was not uncommon. Now, of course, I'm wondering if that was a more significant event. The fetuses measured at 6 weeks, in terms of growth. I'm just really down. I transferred a single PGS normal embryo, so for it to result in twins and then to lose them, I just feel really sad. Thanks to everyone for your support.
