People shove frozen preservative laden crap down there kids throats and then wonder why they get fat, have crappy taste in food and think veggies com from a tin can.

YUCK!! Sara Lee Pound Cake? Get a little more modern and get a few frozen treats from Trader Joe's.

Nobody doesn't like Sara Lee...

Seriously, no worries with the pound cake--it's good.

our family eats mostly fruit/veg/protein-very clean. I make everything. However, when 4-6 15 year old boys are over, plus another few 13 year olds and 10 year olds, you go by volume not quality. It is not unusual for us to have 6-8 kids at our home at a time. We are the house that always hosts. In the summer even more so bc we have a pool. All the food adds up and very rarely do other parents offer to buy something or the kids bring food along so the last thing I am concerned about is "preservative laden crap". I am more concerned that the kids are having fun and are not hungry. They tear through food at an astonishing rate. We often throw on chicken thighs, burgers and pizza on the grill too. I am guessing your kids have few friends or are toddlers. I am sure you will respond with how you put out buffets of food consisting of all the best organic produce and such and I will call BS.

LOL!! Although, seriously, I know many teen girls who love those items as snacks.

All these frozen food advise...YUCK!!!
Not to mention the unhealthy factor of it. My kids friends come over all the time, and THEY LOVE that I make fresh, easy and quick dishes for them, nothing ever frozen. I am not American, and in our culture frozen/junk food is NOT customary.

Almonds (wasabi soy, yumm), cashews, honey roasted peanuts also stay good in the freezer a long time. I also keep those Laceys Chocolate Almond cookies in the freezer for unexpected guests, as well as chocolate chip cookie dough. This is assuming you don't just have chips and salsa in the house, which I always do.

Too fancy for teens, especially boys.

Hot pockets
Frozen pizzas
Chips/dip
Popcorn
Pizza rolls
Mini tacos/taquitos from Costco

You clearly do not know any teen boys.

No one is shoving anything down their throats. They are vacuuming food in.

Teen boys are very different than your pre school girls.

I am all for fresh meals, but not after 9pm and unannounced.

We have a Little Cesar’s 5 minutes away and I’ll go grab a pepperoni pizza and crazy bread when DS has a group of friends over. Feeds them for under $10.

peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, egg and cheese sandwiches
chips or something snacky/crunchy
cookies, ice cream

At that time of night, they should have already had dinner and dessert at home. So I'd recommend lighter foods not something heavy. If you think you need something more filing and you have a deep freezer, the buy some frozen mac and cheese or lasagna and put that in the oven. Or make sure you have plenty of pasta on the shelf and some tomato sauce and cook a big pot when they walk in the door, along with some frozen meatballs.

Yep. I love to cook. But when my house is filled with kids and it is late I’ll throw frozen chicken bites in the oven or call in a pizza order if I don’t have enough frozen pizzas. Sometimes they are eating the popcorn chicken while they wait for the pizza delivery guy. Some of those boys can eat a pizza each. I care that they are having fun and have enough to eat. I like that they want to hang out at my house and at least I know where my kids are.
