I don't think Diamond ES is very well regarded.

Potomac area - Cold Spring, BFES
Wootton cluster - Fallsmead

Maybe their kid being with other Indian families is more important to them than testing and test scores for 5 year olds.

Clarksburg has a huge Indian population. I know it's not in Rockville, N. Bethesda or Potomac but just wanted to point that out.

Indian (married to white) here. We chose the Richard Montgomery cluster because diversity was important to us, and we liked the neighborhoods feeding to it too. I've heard good things about all the elementary schools in the cluster.

We run into many Indian families at stores, extracurricular activities, etc. in the area. Also recommend India School as a way to meet similar families in the area: http://theindiaschool.com/.

Also, Diamond has the same test scores as those other schools. Not that it matters to those who think the only good schools are in Potomac and Bethesda.

Oh so we can also start a thread asking for where there are high concentrations of white kids? Because, you know, we want our kids to be comfortable “with their own.” Asking for a friend.

They aren't, but Asians typically do look at test scores. Diamond ES may have a high Asian % relative to the other groups, but the entire QO cluster has less Asians than the neighboring clusters of RM, Wootton, and Churchill (though, that's a bit further out).

So, if OP is looking for a school that is highly regarded by most Asians, then I'm not sure the QO cluster is it.

Sure. Probably in Bethesda and Potomac.

Do you consider your kids a minority?

In many areas in the TriState, they are, obviously.

I’m mixed AA and can distinguish between A) OP’s we’re struggling to find a school with a lot of families like ours so our non-white kids won’t feel isolated AND B) your version that people want to be mostly with their own kind out of prejudice.

We are likely to stay in this area for the next 5 years and our kids are 3-6 years old.

I am not the OP, but if you step out and go to some place where situation is reversed then you will find whites asking similar question. It happens when you go to a different country.

Reason can be anything, but % of whites is listed by MCPS, so you don't need to ask here like OP is asking.
