OP, the title of your thread is the essence of elitism. I'm as liberal as they come, but you are why people in the heartland and South hate people on the coasts and "liberals."
|
I wouldn't use the word tacky, but I think you are right to recognize that some folks will perceive a conservative political message. Unfortunately the company you keep among other flag bearers includes some awful people who use the flag as a weapon to brandish an aggressive, racist, misogynist, xenophobic agenda. Especially in this area, some people may read that signal. I wouldn't do it. |
Ooooh there’s a backstory! Jeff, do tell... |
OP, are you the is it low class poster or his/he twin??? |
+1000000. Sorry you couldn't feed your "liberals hate America" narrative, troll. |
Trolls going to troll. Myself and all the liberals on my street display American flags. |
Try to keep up, OP. The American flag is for the liberals. The Russian flag is for the right wingers. |
Ha, this! |
If you think that flying an American flag in front of your house is tacky then you might want to consider moving to another country. Wow. And I'm as blue as blue can be. |
I'm super liberal. Want universal healthcare, pro gun control, pro choice, pro LGBTQJLIA rights, pro Dreamers, voted for Hilary, watch MSNBC, you name it. I put out our flag on Flag Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, and Veterans' Day. None of my neighbors in deep blue Arlington seem to mind. |
Ha, random extra letters. LGBTQIA! |
In DC, flying the US flag definitely means “white people live here.” Just saying. |
In case anyone missed it (cough, cough -- "you are why people in the heartland and South hate people on the coasts and "liberals"), yes, OP is one reason the heartland and South are enraged by liberals.
It's because troll flames are repeatedly fanned by people like the OP, who has apparently identified as being "right wing" elsewhere. |
Op, do you mean like flying it in front of your home every day? I wouldn't use tacky, but I find it less special if you fly it every day.
Back in old country we do it on special days only and the flag has to have a light on it at all times when out. For every day use we have that long skinny triangular flag - pennon or pennant. What do I think when I see the flag in front of your house? Uber-Americans live there. |
OP, it's Memorial Day weekend. Get a life. |
