| We're #2 on the waitlist for prek 4 Spanish. I hadn't even done my homework as I assumed lottery for prek 4 would be a wash. We rent in Cap Hill so if we got a spot would have to decide if we would move closer. Other option would be to move to another bilingual DCPS for kindergarten. |
I believe we started at #13 on the waitlist last year for PK4 Spanish and we were offered a spot. It was soon after school started and we didn't take it, but they at least made it to #13 last year. Hope that helps! |
Yes it does help...it gives me a glimmer of hope! |
Congrats on that number! You opted out of applying for Stokes EE? Seems closer to you. |
Thanks. We did get a spot at Stokes EE but will likely decline. Have been planning on moving anyway for kindergarden and would likely move to NE or NW for more convenience to work and friends. Also, have been very happy at Tyler for prek 3 and have questions on switching to a school in its first year. So likely someone's lottery number for EE will move up! |
| Hopefully the movement at EE will make the waitlist at Brookland move more than in previous years |
I was told this year there will be less than 5 spaces. I think that was mentioned at the open house. Maybe one space for K |
Less than 5 for Spanish or French? They didn't mention that at the open house I attended. |
It varies year to year and goes in waves, depending on how many younger siblings current students have. |
Makes sense. I’m below 5 on the waitlist. So I really hope there’s some movement. I am nervous though because I have not seen anyone on here who has Matched at Brookland for any grade? |
You could call them? |
That's because almost no one matches at Stokes at any grade. Their spots go to sibs. Say there are 15-20 new families each year, max, and none of them hang out on DCUM then...there you are. |
Yeah ...funny haha... |
Gotcha. Well...I’ll keep my fingers crossed...and eyes |
| My DD is waitlisted for Kinder at Stokes Brookland, 10 for Spanish and 7 for French |
