Tell me about Michigan State.

On the sex abuse scandal, Nassar's first known assault was in 1992, when he was doing his degree at Michigan State.

The first known report to MSU officials was in 1997, twenty years before he was actually charged.

If you are wondering what kind of place MSU is, I'd strongly recommend reading this article about the way in which they sheltered the most prolific pedophile in US history, and what they refused to act upon: http://www.detroitnews.com/story/tech/2018/01/18/msu-president-told-nassar-complaint-2014/1042071001/

Not even close to Ped State. Ped state has the whole community actively sweeping it under the rug. Over 2 decades of atrocity.

The USOC swept this shit under the rug. With 150+ victims, it’s way worse than Penn State.

That's not Michigan State. It's not a Michigan State run program.

+1. This fact seems to be lost on many posters.

Well.....Nassar wasn't just seeing MSU students, who were mostly beyond his "preferred age range" for abuse. He was also seeing elite gymnasts from throughout the Midwest, who were referred to him by USA Gymnastic. However, when the abuse was first reported, it was reported to MSU even though the victims were not MSU students. They were middle and high school-aged girls from throughout the Great Lakes region. In fact, MSU has used that fact to claim they were not responsible for Nassar's actions, because the girls he molested were not MSU students.

Nassar molested a number of MSU students. Those women were waving red flags for damn near 20 years, and people at MSU systematically shamed them, called them liars, and did perfunctory "investigations" that resulted in allowing Nassar to continue to be a MSU employee and continuing abusing. MSU had zero interest in facing what was happening until Rachel Denhollander went public and the FBI was closing in.

Thank you for this link.
This issue is critical.

No way in hell would MSU be an option right now, personally.

What a shit school!

Safe school for MI residents. Huge school with mostly in-state residents. Always looked down upon my Univ. of Michigan folks.

Troll. And a bad one at that.

Still trying to find the right terminology/name that Sparty State U should be called.

For the example, Penn State U = Pedophile State U. Cult school.

Anyone...Bueller?

Ped 10

Oh, you again. STFU. Don’t be an ass because you went to a boring college. 12 of the 14 schools in the Big Ten had no abuse scandals.

If I wanted to go to a B10 school and couldn't get into the top ones, I would definitely be looking at Iowa and Indiana until MSU cleans house.

Looks like Sparty State is cleaning up their mess a bit quicker than what Pedophile State did.

I believe a recent MoCo National Merit Scholar goes there on a full-ride. Presumably that kid had many other good options.

How do we now watch sports without wondering which individuals are the perpetrators and enablers of the pervasive abuse of women?

Is *anyone* innocent?
Perhaps not.
