It's a good school, though DCUM snobs wouldn't be impressed. It's a very large school and used to be a pretty big party school. The weather sucks really bad in Michigan during the school year.

Michigan resident and grad here. Moo U. is a good school. Reputation is good in Midwest. Outside of here, not so strong if you want to live in the Northeast.
