OP- I’m an MSU grad and chose it from among several big 10 schools in the 90s (from out of state). I cannot understand the criticisms of the campus or weather quite frankly. The campus is gorgeous- I fell in love with it immediately. Yes, it’s cold, and it snows a ton, but I don’t recall it being dreary at all. It’s a huge school and very easy to find your niche. I was coming from a large NE city and wanted to spend my college years in the Midwest. Best decision ever.

FYI- the School is close to Lansing, MI’s capital. It’s very easy to secure internships for students and that can easily translate to jobs on the Hill after graduation. I interned at the capital for 2 years and made many connections.
