Tweens and Teens
Raynaud's doesn't make you any more likely to die from hypothermia just fyi. |
Yes, it does. It closes blood vessels. |
Or a teen who snuck out after curfew and is hiding in the backyard might try to stay still to avoid making noise and getting caught. Hypothermia makes you feel sleepy and warm. People actually shed clothes sometimes! |
Frostbite maybe, but hypothermia is your body temperature dropping suddenly: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/hypothermia/symptoms-causes/syc-20352682 |
In extremities. Not the core. Core body temp is what kills you. |
| nothing in this says it was a teen |
j The op's son mentioned that another student died. |
| Devastating. What happened?? |
| Alcohol plus tripping and falling seems to be the operating theory on social media, with the alcohol part presumed certain and the falling a guess. It's very uneven, heavily wooded terrain near where the body was reportedly found. |
|
My friend used to live right there.
Very wealthy area. Heartbreaking. |
It's heartbreaking because it's a very wealthy area? Ok then. |
|
any details?

teen was a senior at Whitman according fox5 reporter
|
|
I live in the area. Late last night this was posted on our neighborhood email list:
"my son XXX has been missing since last night in the Bethesda area. He was last seen at 7/11 near glen echo. He was wearing long khaki pants, a red flannel over a shirt and possibly creme colored polo shoes. He has facial hair. His hair is brown. Please notify me if you see him. Thank you." A follow up-post mentions he's 17 years old. It's likely the same person that police are reporting about. Second death to hit the Whitman community in the last couple weeks. Very sad. |
| nbc4 reporter just tweeted it was a missing 17 year old found dead. in the woods. so sad. |
