We fill corporate posts on the VP level or above . Sorry you have had a bad experience with whichever firm you hired.

Depends on the field and the geographic location. You can use indeed.com or salary.com for average salaries in your field.

Wow, how "insider"!!

No need for the snark. W/o knowing which field the person is in and which location, no one can answer the question.
Why so snarky? So many of you are having bad days. Maybe try a new job or ... get a job to improve your outlooks. |
| Would you recommend someone get their MPH (Master in Public Health)? |
| Why do you post your responses above the quoted material instead of below it, as is the custom on DCUM? |
|
Depends on what you want to do. What are your career goals? Do you have to take out loans for the degree? I know people who have done well with that degree and others who can't find a job. Do you have prior experience in public health or are you making a career switch?
|
| Why do you keep giving people hope that’s there’s job opportunities with useless art degrees? |
I've no mentioned anything about art degrees. And, I'm someone who believes the right person can "parlay" almost any degree with smarts, tenacity and hustle. So many doubters on this forum. Why the hate? If you don't have anything nice or helpful to say, please refrain from your angry posts or go over to politics to brag about voting for Trump.

| Why should anyone in DC use an executive search firm when everyone knows it's a town in which the best jobs are obtained through one's existing relationships? |

You seem to be confusing executive search firms with recruiting firms. Recruiting firms work for individuals. Executive search firms are paid by companies to find the best people for executive positions. Since you don't seem to know the difference, you are not yet at the executive level. We are paid for companies to find the best people. That means people who are happy in their jobs and not looking. We rarely hire people who are out of jobs. If you want to get on an executive search firm's radar...you should be visible in your field and referred by people who know your work.

| What? Recruiters work for firms. Every recruiter who has contacted me has worked for a firm. |
No, recruiters are paid only when they find actual people for a job. Executive search firms are paid by the company on a retained basis and are paid whether they find someone or not under most contracts.
