Money can't buy good taste. Big ugly houses coming up everywhere. Super sized bad architecture.

Are all non-white people foreigners to you?

Ostentatious, flagrant mixing of styles, over stated, over sized, poor design. Is this a dream house or just another nightmare on Geo'town Pike?

Some people have more money than good taste, but they can afford to hire an architect with vision. Why don't they leave design to a talented professional?

Why don't you post an example of your idea of what a good architecture nice looking home is?

Try around here (falls church) - illegal tenement mansions filled to the brim with foreigners, built all the way to the fence, and the yard completely paved to make parking. Some even have parking lines drawn.

Some of the SFH are actually multi family housing. It matters to the neighborhood.

+2. Another thread bemoaning the prolific spread of mcmansions in the greater DC area, how original.

Let's predict the comments, I have seen a few pop up already

"These people have more money than taste"
"Only foreigners like those tasteless mcmansions"
"Parents who live in McMansions in the suburbs are choosing a longer commute over spending more time with their children!"
"I could never live anywhere without walk-ability"
"I much prefer living in my 60s ranch, it makes us closer as a family"
"My 8,000 sq ft home was designed by an architect, therefore it's not a McMansion"
"Who on earth needs all that space? My family of 8 is perfectly happy in our 900 sq ft condo."
"I'd rather die than live in Va, or *gasp* Ashburn"

And some aren't. Like the rebuild two houses down with a steady turn over of Euro trash short term tenants. Definitely not legal. 5 entrances. Another neighbor tried to call county but they plastered over a door when the inspection happened. Two doors down from that, another foreign family with junk filling his car port, 8-9 cars clogging up the parking at night, of his 1,100 sq ft house. Down the street near the playground (which is littered with junk even though there are plenty of waste bins), two houses, 20+ cars, garbage, overgrown and dilapidated yards. It's a freaking blight.

The over sized houses are a culture preference. Some foreign born families pool resources and buy big and a lot of people live together. Also, some like the big gaudy houses because it is a sign of wealth (sometimes they are not so rich, but just like to show like they're rich). It's important to the family name. So it's not just bad taste it has a lot to do with realizing the American McDream.

You're talking about something zoned for either Stuart or Falls Church. Just spill the beans.

I thought Stuart is Falls Church? And to answer your question, yes, absolutely Stuart. Why?

Larger than 1500 sqft because our family of 8 live comfortably in 1200 sqft.
