He won't; just like he is now going to give amnesty to the illegals. |
+1 there is nothing in it for middle class, it's price gouging. |
| microsoft is an outdated monopoly that has been too slow to evolve |
He got my got due to immigration. Stop the H1B fraud and OPT fraud and F1 fraud. Just make employers pay 150K for the best and brightest. They can have as many as they want at 150k indexed by inflation |
+ 1 million |
Lol. They pay my DH a heck of a lot more than that to do his software engineering job. He does tech interviews for his company, which would love to hire American workers and not deal with H1Bs. Good luck with that. Even the DMV is definitely not flush with smart, talented, experienced softwear engineers. Americans with this skills set can write their own ticket. Because there is not a surplus of Americans with talent, education and experience in this area. Or, if there is, maybe you can point them out? |
DH works in private industry tech in the DMV area. They work hard to find qualified skilled workers in the area. |
I hire software testers and software developers. We get hundreds of resumes. Every year our colleges graduate 3 million graduates. Please do not post this type of CEO zuckerberg, gates, ellison propaganda here in DMV there are many many US citizens available for software development jobs. Maybe your DH should be posting the details because if he can't find americans there is some constraint, maybe clearances are required? or maybe they want developers under 30? or maybe they are looking for the purple squirrel of specific arcane tech knowledge and company will not train? or maybe they only pay 60K a year? there are lots of smart capable people available in DMV area |
can you explain why rates today are less than they were in early 2000? if there is such a lack of developers, why are contracting rates lower? |
hundreds of resumes just in Reston VA for java - https://www.indeed.com/resumes?q=Java+J2EE+Developer&l=reston%2C+va&co=US and more for Ruby on Rails - https://www.indeed.com/resumes?q=ruby+on+rails&l=reston%2C+va really how can you not find qualifed developers in DMV area? |
What do you mean by "compliant?" |
Because there are more people doing the same work. Supply and demand. |
bingo. |
Inclined or willing to comply; obedient: willing to work weekends, for 18 hour deployments, whenever asked. |
And the top students want to work at Apple and google or a start-up on the west coast. Not work in DC where they'll most likely get stuck with a government client. Even the tech firms around San Diego struggle to get the top talent. |
